Black cat with bad eye sighted.

Yesterday when I walked out of my house I saw a long skinny all black cat with a milky looking eye. He was laying underneath one of the bushes looking miserable and I bent down to say hello and get a good look at him. Unfortunately, at that same moment one of the more friendlier ferals from the yard came around the front and sacred him away.

I can't stop thinking about this cat and took a walk in the cold to try to find him again this morning. I have not seen him and probably won't with my feral group. They are very territorial.

I don't think I could help him (money is so tight right now) if I found him again but I might be able to make sure he gets a good meal and at least assess his condition. I left dry food out underneath the bush last night, but it was untouched.

I don't know if this is the right thread or not but please say a little prayer for this cat. As some of you know, my immediate neighbors hate cats and I worry that he doesn't have food, that he is cold or that they may do something to him or her. It looks like at one time he must have been a very beautiful black cat.

Thank you!

We just rescued a kitty that turns out has asthma. We can't afford all the tests and x-rays that have been done, but we told our vet up front, and he said we could make monthly payments of what we could afford. If you see the kitty again, maybe just give the vet a call.

Well, I've been walking and looking and I believe I have had two more sightings of this cat. Both times the cat I saw was all black and huddled against a house (two different houses) and wouldn't even open his eyes to look at me when I made noise to get it's attention. If it is the same cat, he is moving farther away and I don't know what to do.

At today's sighting, I had brought a bag of dry food with me and wanted to put some down for him, but I was afraid. I felt foolish standing in front of somebody's house calling a cat that might not even be him and might belong to the person's house it was. I didn't know if I can put food on a sidewalk as everybody where I live is very caring about their property and lawns. I'm already known as the Cat Lady because of my feral cats. Later when it was dark, I drove by a nearby corner and quick dumped some dry food in the street.

I just want to help this guy but I don't know what exactly I can do. And to top it all off, my inside cat has a swelling under his ear that is going to have to be looked at. He'll probably go to the vet tomorrow and I will be having that conversation with the vet that you suggested LDG.

I am going to leave some food in front of my house tonight. Maybe he will be heading back this way.

Anyway, wanted to post that I am still looking and will try my best to help this poor cat.
