Kitten sales contract

Thread Starter
Thought this might be a place for people to discuss what is involved in a kitten contract. I didn't want to hi-jack the thread on Scottish Folds any more.

My contract states that I have a health guarantee against FIV and FelV, plus 30 days against any obvious health defects. I also state that my kittens are meant to be indoor cats only.

I provide kittens with all boosters complete plus spay/netuer done.

Off-topic - my Mom fell in love with my alter Mau while she was pet-sitting her and Fii now lives at my parents place. She is their baby, and she has commandeered their dog's huge dog bed. He sleeps on the floor. Since Fii has been beelining through the door every time they open it, I gave them a cat harness for Christmas. They are going to take her out on leash when the weather gets better.

Mine is similar to this one
http://www.australianocicats.com/Gal...0Guarantee.htm

At least one vacc (I prefer to wait until 10 weeks for the first, then only 2 are required, the next at 14 weeks), desexed, microchipped, 6 weeks insurance, kitten pack.

I don't mind if mine go out in an enclosure or harness but they are not to wander free.

I include in my contract feeding reccomendations - it often happens that pet buyers will ring me up a few weeks later and say that so and so has the runs..and then I ask what they are feeding and notice it's already completely different.

I also include that "such and such is signing that the kitten appeared healthy etc on 07/01/10". Some breeders I know go as far as getting their vet to sign a statement too.

I haven't bred any litters yet, but I have been thinking what to include to the contract when the time comes. I own five purebreds which all came from different breeders, mostly they have very similar contracts.

-The kitten is from Felv&FIV tested parents
-Vet sertificate stating the condition of the kitten
-All are sold as indoor cats, outside only in harness or kitty proof enclosure
-Vaccinated once or twice, dewormed several times
-Ready to move when 12-16weeks old (depending on the vaccinations)
-If the cat dies or needs to be rehomed, breeder must be notified (autopsy reports are important, and everyone wants to know where their babies are living)
-Kitten pack with food and toys
-Written info about feeding, grooming and some basic medical care
-Possibly also desexed and microchipped, or atleast with a contract that the buyer needs to get the kitten fixed before it's 6months old

(I would also include no declawing!! if I'd live in US).
