Hello everyone!

I'm new to the site, and so far I've gotten some very good information! I thought I would introduce my kitty family to you, and maybe swap some cat stories too!

I have 8 beautiful kitties that let me live with them. I am a sucker for Tortoiseshell cats, so 6 of my babies are Torties. From oldest to youngest I have:

The Wee One (5 yrs in June of 2010). Her real name is Needa but she was only 1.5 pounds when I adopted her, so her nickname became Wee One, and Da Wee. She is my oldest Tortie, a nibbler, and a very sweet girl.

Autumn (4 & 1/2). My 2nd Tortie. Autumn has a round face and her lips turn down, so she looks a bit like Oscar the Grouch. She's short and squat and with her grumpy face is quite the character. We took her in after seeing her in the shelter for several months. She was adopted and returned after 2 days because the lady said she was sick and fought with her other cat. Well, all cats get the runs when they're nervous, and if she just dumps two strange cats together, of COURSE they'll fight. We coudn't leave her there, so we took her home, and she's a doll!

Shyla (4 in March of 2010). She's my only gray & white kitty. She is shy, like her name, and only seems to like Mama. She has the tiniest kitten meow, and a gray blob on the side of her pink nose. When no one else is in the house but me, she comes looking for love and can't get enough of belly scratchers. If there are people in the house, you won't see her at all.

Duck (4 in May of 2010). Her name was Dixie, but it became apparent it didn't fit her. She's pretty wide so she waddles when she walks, and her short meow sounds like a quack. Another Tortie, we felt bad watching all her kittens being adopted out from under her, but no one took any interest in an older cat. We brought her home and have loved her happy quacks ever since!

Louie (4 in May of 2010). My only boy is a black smoke. His fur is black on the outside but silver close to his skin. He has big yellow eyes and is the sweetest cat you'll ever meet. He loves to give kisses and he is Mr. Personality. He loves all the "women" he lives with, and nothing phases this mellow happy kitty. He makes funny noises when he stretches, and it sounds like he is complaining.

Luna (3 in July 2010). My darkest Tortie, Luna is named after Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter. She is definitely looney, and has a special spot she runs to if she wants love, otherwise she stays just out of your reach. One of her nicknames is Yelly McYellerton, because she has a very demanding meow.

Peanut (2 in February 2010). Peanut is built like Autumn, short and squat. Her tail curls up over her back like a little pig tail. She is the softest cat I've ever had, and she's my lightest Tortie. She is very silly, and falls over as you pass in case you might want to scratch her belly.

Turtle (1 year in May 2010). Turtle Peekers is my newest addition. She was a grayish fuzzy Tortie for adoption at my vet's office, and she's turned out to be a gorgeous longhair kitty. She is a total Mama's cat, and loves to knead on my neck. She is mostly fur, just a tiny kitty, but she's a lapcat to the core, and I go to sleep every night with her curled up under my chin. I'm trying to get the other cats to accpet her into our home, and it's been a difficult road so far.

So that's the LONG introduction to my kitty family. We all live outside of Denver in a big house so everyone has plenty of space to call their own. All my kitties are indoors only, and love to sit by the glass door to the backyard and watch the wild rabbits that live there. They have the run of the house and have trained me very well to make sure all their needs are met.

Looking forward to learning more about this site and the people that belong to it. And hopefully I'm not the only one with so many cats???

What a wonderful intro of your lucky babies. Its sounds like they are surrounded with a lot of love and acceptance.

There are many on the site who have multiple cats. I have 5 (one named Ducky, but he doesnt waddle or quack lol).

If you have any questions maneuvering your way around, just click on my username and send me a prvate message with any questions you may have.

I laughed at the nickname Yelly McYellerton... sounds like something I would come up. Torties are definitely cute cats. Pictures!
