Hello all,

It appears that a handful of us are frequent fitness folks, so I thought it might be fun to have a place where we discuss our routines for the day. (And if it doesn't catch on, oh well. Lord knows I don't have a problem talking to myself.
)

I rode my recumbent exercise bike for 25 minutes this morning, going 7.4 miles on the 2nd (of 5) difficulty setting.

Tonight I need to do a total of 10 minutes worth of planks, if my body can handle it. I have never done them before, so maybe I should start with 5?

Okay, your turn!

I bought The Biggest Loser's Bootcamp DVD and did the week 1 this morning before work.
Plan on doing it again tomorrow but have to re-buy some dumbbells as I gave mine to my mom. Only have a body bar which doesn't work well for the DVD.

Im in a rut, but am working on getting out of it. Have not been to the gym in awhile...today I did bis, tris, shoulders with body bar and resistance bands. I took the 8 flights of stairs at work twice. Got in about 20 min walk on lunch break. May use the wii fit plus (have not had time yet!) tonight...but might play mario instead

Oh, I also have a nike balance board that I stand on/use for 1-3 minutes 2-3 times a day (find it fun!)

I love this thread, reading about other people's exercise routines really motivates me...
I try to do do cardio 3 times a week (running 3-4 miles) and strength training 2 times a week with my own body weight and dumbells...I don't do it very consistently because when I have exams and finals I use those as an excuse not to go to the gym. And during the holidays, the gym was closed so I didn't get to go as much as i wanted so I've been a vegetable for the past few weeks.
I am about to start a new exercise routine though, because I have a new schedule with new classes so I really hope I stick to it...

Ew, I hate planks....hate them. Especially side planks...my body does not know how to do them

I went to a fitness class yesterday and will be going again tomorrow. I need to get back into the swing of things. Boot camp class on Thursday!

Well, today was actually my rest day since I had my Russian Kettlebell clas yesterday and I always feel it the day after, but tomorrow I'm off to the gym after work for 20 minutes of running and another 15 of weights.

The Kettlebells are new for the new year to knock me out of what had become my exercise rut. I'll see how it goes after a month or so.

Rigel, how can it be too cold to excersice?? You live in the TROPICS!!!! What, it's below 70 degrees??? Poor Baby!

My excersize has to be limited because of back and knee problems, but I might actually get motivated to do something by reading this.

One funny story....a co-worker came in after a vacation from before Christmas until after New Years...and he got a Wii for Christmas. Now, this guy is a big sympathy getter (complains about any ache and pain) and was going around rubbing his shoulder constantly. Finally someone gave in an asked what was wrong with his shoulder. He said, and I quote..." I was playing with my Wii all night and my shoulder hurts now." Ok.....what do you say to that???
So now his nickname is "Weeeeeee..." LOL, and I'm afraid it's going to stay.

I have been excercising everyday. We usually do an hour of cardio on the excercise bikes. If people are on the bikes then we do the cross country torture machine for 30 min. and weight machines. As long as we do an hour of torture, my husband is happy and so is my Dr.

I have had a wii fit for a while now and I haven't touched it in a long time but I was motivated to buy the wii fit plus by a friend who told me about the extras so I just bought it and tried it out and it is much more entertaining and certainly will keep me interested!

I did 30 mins on the wii fit plus and will probably go for a walk by the river after dinner!

Maybe this will keep me more motivated.

I walk 3 miles a day outside during my lunch break at work; it takes between 40 and 45 minutes to do the 3 miles, depending on how lazy I am. Since I had done some exercises on Monday night, my exercise shoes were in the bedroom on the treadmill and forgot to take them to work. I couldn't walk over lunch.

But I did do the three miles last night on the treadmill, so it was OK. Last night was an "off" night for me, so tonight is when I'll do my main exercises.

I have the FIRM DVDs and was doing them, but had to quit due to a leg injury. I'd like to start doing them again as they were a lot of fun.

It's cold outside in central PA right now and icy. I have ice grippers for my shoes so I don't have to worry about falling down. My co-workers call me the Ms. Michelin because I have layers upon layers upon layers of clothes on when I go out to walk.

Whoa! Check out all of the replies! What a happy little surprise.

Yeah, the ol' planks were tougher than I imagined. I still managed to do 5 minutes of them, over 30 and 60 second intervals. The Wii Fit board is very uncomfortable to use for those, though, so I'll either do them on my own or use some sort of light blanket to make things a little more comfortable.

I also shoveled snow for 35 minutes, so I am counting that. LOL

I didn't want to get out of bed this morning, so I just did 10 minutes of jogging with the Wii Fit and busted out 25 push ups.

I'll be doing 75 more push ups tonight, and 100 curls (only with 20lb dumb bells) and a handful of planks.

Fun fun! Keep at it, folks!

I REALLY want a Wii Fit Plus! I think it would be a lot of fun...and for someone as unfond of excerise as myself...fun is Key!

I have to say reading about everyone exersise routines is making me feel awfully jiggly. LMAO. My DF and I do have to work out some kind of routine though. The plan was to start walking daily...but its WAY too cold. Im sorry...i am not going outside to walk in anything below 50 degrees. Honestly i don't like to exercise where people can see me. Too self consious. Anyway...it is pretty modivating to see what all of you do.

I wouldn't classify myself as a frequent fitness folk but it does go in fits and bursts!

I got a gym membership in November (half price deal) and it lasts until Febuary so I'm currently going 5 x a week. Although this week I may try for 6 x.

I generally do 20-30 mins of cardio and 10-15 minutes of weights per day. I also do about 15 mins of walking 2-4 times a week.

A State of Confusion
Unfortunately, I don't have a very consistent routine right now. I struggle to manage to get to the gym 3 times a week. The biggest problem is that I use the gym at work. I like it because it's free, it's rarely crowded, and you don't get the "meathead" crowd you get at a normal gym. I've been struggling to come to work three times a week while I'm writing my dissertation, so my gym time has suffered. Once I graduate and get a place with a little more space, I would like to have an exercise room so that I can exercise at home if I'd like. I find it really difficult to get a good cardio workout otherwise.

As for the workout, I was good today and went to the gym for the 2nd time this week. If the weather holds out and I don't get a big case of the lazies, I may even make it in on Friday. Today's exercise was:

- Walked a mile from the parking lot to my office.
- Walked to the gym and back (~1/2 mile round trip)
- Went to the gym and ran 2 miles on the treadmill plus warm up and cool down.
- Used the weight machines to work out both arms and legs. I did 3 sets of 10 reps with about a 15 second wait in between for each exercise.
- I'm getting ready to hike the mile or so back to my car and go home. That may be the worst part. That's a long cold walk when I'm tired after a long day.

I did about the same routine on Monday and I thought I was going to be sore, but surprisingly, I'm not. I think it may be because of the 1000 mg of Vitamin C I take every day.

^Woah. Compared to me, that's a lot.

Honestly speaking, I do nothing in the ways of exercise but swim for 2 hours and do at least 25 laps around the public pool everyday. On days when I'm not feeling up to it, like most days in winter, I just run on the treadmill, and jump rope, both of which I can only keep up for an hour 'cos they aren't as fun as swimming.
I dunno what that makes me rank on the fitness level, though, 'cos even though swimming gets me slimmer, I still can't bring myself to eat healthy and I munch on twix bars and any other chocolate I can get my mitts on.

I did walk 3 miles over my lunch break on Wednesday. On Wednesday night, I did my exercises with the dumbbells, followed by various stomach crunches. It takes me about one hour from start to finish.

I go to Curves three times a week and have been snow shoeing every day for the past week, now that we finally have enough snow.

I normally walk about 20 miles a week, but I broke my foot and had complications on Labor Day weekend (first weekend in September for non Americans) and have been unable to walk or hike at all for several months.

I gained 18 pounds when I broke my foot, so now, not only do I have to step up the exercise (the snow shoeing is low impact on my foot, walking is taking a bit longer) I have to diet.

counting calories is a real drag, but none of my clothes fit!

I want one of those as well, but I haven't done much research on them. About all I know is to make sure that you get the right size ball for your height. I believe there are sizes for people below 6 feet, and 6 feet+. (I am not quite sure that 6 feet is the official "break" though, but I am guessing the packaging will have a recommendation.)

I was a laser butt again this morning and got up later than I wanted, so I only rode the exercise bike for 15 minutes. I think I rode 4.2 miles on the 4th (of 5) settings. I'll finish tonight by doing 5 more minutes of planks. Maybe more, but not likely. LOL

I am going to sleep in a whole extra 20 minutes tomorrow morning, so I can stay up a splash late tonight and watch more of the college football championship. Woo hoo!

Keepp the faith, folks!
