is there a sore throat thing going around?

If so.. I have it, along with congestion in my ears and sinuses. Bleh!!!

I've been having a sore throat a lot myself lately. Maybe it's something in the air?

Still, tho, you should try some warm tea with cinnamon, it always works for me. It tastes good and has a really nice, soothing effect!

Yep I had it last week. It was a sore/dry throat, runny nose and sneezing. It never progressed to a "sickness" but it sure was annoying!

Had it yesterday, and my left ear has been slightly clogged for 6 days now.

I got over my sore throat and cold symptons with the Theraflu warming syrup. Seemed to work pretty well
My ear is still slightly clogged though...

I've got it right now myself & since I was in Michigan at Christmas I must have brought it back to Wisconsin.

Yes, that's the only gift I got for Christmas that I didn't like at all.

I managed to make it thru Christmas day, then Christmas night I was up most of the night with sore throat, nasal drip, etc. By morning my face was swollen (sinuses), my throat was so sore I could only drink liquids, and I was fevered. 2 days later it started working into my chest while still being in my nose (coughing while dealing with sinus issues = not fun).

Just started feeling "normal" within the last 2 days.

I had a sore throat/dry cough for a good three weeks after Thanksgiving. I had so many cough drops/throat lozenges I should have bought stock in the company.

Ice cream feels great on the irritated throat. But I took some ibuprofen at times to ease the pain. Try gargling with warmish salt water too!

My mom's had that since Christmas (her brother brought it to dinner ) started as a sore throat and turned into a really annoying head cold that she hasn't been able to shake. She finally went and got antibiotics for it a few days ago.

I emailed my brother - who is a doctor. He said, yes, it is going around and filled an antiobiotic prescription for me cuz my sinuses were showing signs of infection. Good to have a doctor in the family! And he is a wonderful brother!
