I have two kitties and they are adorable! I adopted them recently and I'm still getting used to the hair shedding. I grew up with dogs mainly and were kept outside so this is the first time I've had a pet inside. The first kitty constantly follows me wherever I go. It's cute and a little annoying sometimes... because he'll walk in between my legs. The second one likes to be left alone. Sometimes I wonder if he even likes me. But they both get along great!

Cats have varying personalities, just like dogs...or people.

Have you discovered that there's nothing more soothing than a purring cat?

A good brush and/or comb will help the shedding. Tell us what you're doing, and maybe we can be of more help.

There's a fabulous deshedding tool called the "Furminator". It's a little pricey, but it does a fantastic job of getting the hair under control, and a good diet definitely helps too. The stress of a new house and routine may also contribute

Your second kitty probably just needs more time to get used to things, I'm sure he likes you

Welcome to The Cat Site, and feel free to ask questions - there really is no such thing as a silly question!

Hi there!!!
Here is the link for the Furminator - you are lucky, it is almost 50% off on Amazon right now, so I would say hurry up and get one!! Just read the reviews in there - this thing is amazing, it can reduce shedding by like 90-something %!!

About your kitties - Congrats on adopting them!! Cats have wonderful and yes, very distinctive personalities!!
Some will be clingy, some independent... They all show love in their own different ways. They are very fun animals to live with

Welcome to to the site, and please please please, post pictures as soon as you can!!! whatever you need, we'll be here!

Another way to help get excess hair is to put some pantyhose over your hand and pet them... I've never used the furminator, it probably works better than this method but it's easy to just pet them.
