1. Wake up New Years Day with a fever and pink eye, courtesy of my youngest nephew.

2. After a 6 hour drive from OC to Vegas, find out I have 60 days to be out of my dwelling! Hi Mom, miss me? lol

3. The open wound on Whiskys stomach is bigger and deeper and still not healing than when I left for OC on the 28th. So, it IS a tumor! Plus, his ear is practically bleeding constantly now. Taking him in for the final time on Tuesday.

I sure hope that is the worst of it!!

Yes, but I am not going to go into the details and know things will get better and am thankful for all I have. Remember, things can always be worse. Keep your chin and head up okay.

It wasn't great - Jan 01 started off with a windchill of 50 below, and it stayed that way. Was so cold, I became a 'bleeder' from the cold, kinda froze the inside of my nose, and you KNOW you are gonna be in trouble when that happens. That was followed by 3 wasted hours yesterday pushing snow around, only to find a good portion of what I cleared partly filled in again and new stuff piled where I rarely have to clean after a storm. Nothing exotic like pink-eye though, just irritation and money wasting - diesel fuel is expensive

Well, not technically a bad start to the new year, but a crappy ending to last year- I got laid off from my job on new years eve.

Other than that all is ok, and this year better be better than 2009 or else!!!

I hope since your year started out bad, that it can only get better from here!!

Yuppers....

You aren't alone.

I got sick on Christmas night, just finally getting over it now (sore throat, sinus probs, fever, lung probs, body aches, etc. etc.).... Rung in new years sick and alone (even tho I'm married with kids)..... It's not been pleasant around here lately partially due to me and my chronic pain issues being flared so I'm moodier than normal, in a massive depression phase which of course strains relationships....

so yah, this year has not started off great.

As a wise friend often tells me "This too shall pass". It will, prolly not soon enough for my liking, but it will pass.

Just don't give up hope..... always have a little hope in your heart and things will get better...

I started 2010 off by going to a funeral. 2009 ended with Mikes grandpa passing away and his funeral was January 2.

I had a great nye and day. Problem is that night and all the next day I was down with something. That's all I can call it. My lungs burned,I was nauseas, I had a migraine, and I got a cold sore. I got out of bed only to retreat to the couch and sleep another 6 hours. I got up ate something took a gazillion aspirin and felt better.
I got up the following day and just had a little headache and my stomach was a little off...Don't have a clue what hit me, but BOY I don't want it back!

Well, mine can't compare with most of the bad beginnings posted, but I was supposed to return to work today (after a very long vacation), but came down with a lovely cold yesterday--and it kept me up most of the night, so I'm home sick today (I just got up a few minutes ago to eat lunch). Now, I can't sleep! (I only had 2-3 hours last night.) I feel as if a garbage truck has run me over!

I hope everyone's New Year improves very soon--and turns out to be happy, prosperous, and healthy!

I had several creepy passengers NYE, but fortunately most of them turned out to be just drunk and harmless. Then.......
I had to toss 2 drunk Marines out of my cab. One of them had mooned another cab and almost fallen out the window, and refused to put his pants back on until we got to the sentry gate to go on base. I almost had them home, and one of them started grabbing at me from the back seat. I told him he had 2 seconds to stop before I put him out, and he stopped until I got to a short place where I could not pull over. I smacked him with my mag lite, pulled over at the nearest safe place, and told them to pay me and get out. They did not want to pay, so I had to threaten to take them back to the sentry. They paid and got out. I gassed up my ride and turned it in for the night so I could go home. This is why I almost never drive at night. No more special occasions for me!

I'm so sorry hun. I can say that my New year so far (touch wood a million times
) has been ok but the last few months of 2009 were horrendous for me, so its been a breath of fresh air. I really hope things pick up for you sweetie, they certainly have for me and at one point I thought things would never get better. xx

At 12:05 am on New Year's Eve, we decided to make a run for the emergency vet with Tailer. So, not a great start here either.
I look at it this way, though...it can only get better!

I didn't know how to take it when he said that Whisky was being dropped off at the vet for the final time...

Whisky's Dad, it's Tuesday, and my thoughts are with you and Whisky!

Has anybody heard anything about Whisky?

So far, our new year seems to be going OK.

I had the worst start imaginable. I had to have my precious, beloved love of my life Maverick put to sleep yesterday. There are no words to describe the pain.

I hope everyone else has a much better start to their new year.

I'm so sorry.
I know you've had so many problems with your son's health.
I hope he's doing better.
