I noticed a couple of odd scabs on Tiny's face a couple of days ago and I'm wondering if anyone here has seen something like it before. She has two little black spots on her face right between her nose and her mouth. They're very symmetric and if she weren't my cat, I would assume the spots were just the roots of whiskers because they look just like them. When I feel of them, the spots are actually little scabs. What they feel like is puncture wounds from another cat's claws. That may well be what they are, but I have to wonder because they're so well centered on her face. The scabs are also too far apart to be adjacent claws, so I would expect to see a third one in the center. I'm wondering if they might be some type of glands that are clogged up or infected.

Here's a picture of the two scabs:

And here's a close-up view:

I agree they don't look like claw wounds. I believe kitty acne is normally on the chin, not above the mouth.

If they're not red and swollen I would just leave them a couple of days and see if they go away on their own. If they get red, swollen, change in any way or don't go then I would take him along to the vet to get checked out.

Thanks, that's what I'm planning to do. I think Thufir is due for his annual physical soon. If they haven't healed up by then I'll take her along and have my vet look at it.

Hello, I am having this issue with my 5 month old kitten. Even figure out what this was?
