excessive drooling - nausea

Hi all...
I hope you had a good start of the year.
I found this kitty on the road on x-mas day, called the vet and took him in for fleas spray and dewormer, he had also a bad eye.... stinky as hell and looked a little weak, one blurry eye but no signs of anything else. he ate and drank and peed/pooped normally.
He's been isolated in a clinic cage so no access to anything dangerous and my cats not getting the chance to get whatever he could have.
Yesterday morning he did not have apetite and i noticed he was drooling, called the vet who was away and he said to wait till today when he was coming back to the island.
He looked at him, at his mouth to see if he has an ulcer or something there and he touched all his body. Kitty drools A LOT and when vet touched his body he cried when he touched his stomach. He said his breathing was not normal, true, he breaths a little harder.
Vet said he has no idea what could be wrong (no other vets around....is a greek island) made a couple of shots and sent me home.
He has horrible nausea because I tried to give him some vitamin paste fish flavored and I just opened the cap and gave him nausea, I tried to give him also viyo the prebiotic drink with a syringe, but he spitted it and drooled more.

I really do not know what else I can do, I have the feeling that is something in his organs but the vet does not have all the equipment a professional vet does, so I cannot do further tests here !! if anyone has any ideas please let me know what can I do and if I can expect this kitty to survive the night.... he hasnt been eating since yesterday morning.

My cat died that and she had ARF and I lost her.
It could be a kidney prblem or even a liver problem.
I hope omething can help him.

If he was found on the road, and is very sensitive about having his stomach touched - I do wonder if he wasn't hit by a car. I'm not sure what to tell you next, as I'm guessing your vet is unable to do x-rays?

He was definetely not hit by a car, he was "perfectly fine" till he suddenly started to do this... I also thought about the ARF ... or anything with kidneys cause of the nausea and the breathing.... I have a CRF cat (18 yrs) and sometimes she has A LOT of nausea, and I lost a cat to ARF (7yrs) a couple of years ago... and I remember him breathing heavily.

With limited income I can only do as much for the strays I take in... I forgot to say that this kitten is around 2 - 3 months old....

I have a CRF
My sisters Ty did that and he was only 8 months old.
It turned out to be a liver shunt and she lost him.
There are so many things the kitten can have though.

Today I was at the vet in the morning and again an hour ago, kitty was PTS, we tried everything we could do here. we would never know what was wrong with him... but now he's pain free.... RIP x-mas kitty ...

Hi Again !
I took in this other sick kitty, and even though she was not so bad, she died in 3 days... she had loss of apetite, so I was feeding her cat milk with a syringe and giving her vitamin paste, she would swallow... vet did same antibiotic shots and gave fluids but we lost her. He suspects Panleukopenia but not sure....
Kittens were not in direct contact with my cats who are vaccinated with felovax, but they could see kittens over the cages.

I always clean cages and bedding and bowls with bleach after any cat leaves my "clinic cages" and I always washed my hands after handling them... but I did not change clothes before handling other cats.... so the question is... how dangerous is that for my cats?????, they are all vaccinated with FELOVAX IV . (that includes the Panleukopenia virus)

Ronit, I can't help you with your question, but my goodness! Thank you for taking these kitties in and caring for them as best as you can.

It's fairly contagious, but hopefully vacs should help prevent them from getting it.

Has the vet done a necropsy on either cat to check for liver or kidney damage? I'm thinking about the possibility that they were poisoned due to it being known that it's done elsewhere over there.

Oh yes, poison here is the worse epidemic.... but that's another whole story...
I do not think it was poison, because where I found those kitties are not areas where "dangerous people" live ......
I just hope that we'll be ok at home... but I could not let the kittens out in the cold .....
Vet did no necropsy...is pretty basic vet services here...

There's so many things it could gave been. FIP, poison, some genetic fault. Bless you for taking them in and letting them know a little love, and having them put to sleep to relieve them of their pain.
