If you are retired or do not work out of the home, what do you do with your leisure time.

I am retired and so far don't really get bored. I usually rise late morning and by the time I have coffee etc., my morning is just about gone. I run errands or do some housework. I spend a lot of time reading and cuddling with Autumn.

In the evenings I enjoy my favorite programs on TV. I love having to answer to nobody and do what I want when I want. I think at my age I deserve all the freedom
So what do you do?

I wished to answer your question in your position my friend...
I mean to be retired...
but seems that I have a long way to walk yet...
...

But when I have free time as sundays, try to rest the more that I can on the bed and for sure ( when I get up ) make some garden labour...
always try to make other stuffs diferents of the daily routine of the week...

Interesting question...

I don't work, my hubby works full time, we have 3 children aged 8, 4 and 2. I do all the household chores, make all the meals. School and nursery runs and I go shopping on a tuesday and thursday. I get up at 7, get myself and the children ready, take Melissa (my eldest to school an 8.25, then I come home, have acup of tea and start my chores-washing, hoovering, mopping, dusting, putting clothes away and toys
Feed the cats, bunnies, birds and fish. Then I make dinner for the youngest two and myself. Then its off to nursery for Brandon (he's 4). Then home and by the time I have tidied up and played with Molly its time to go and pick them up. Then home, do the tea, bath them all, then bed (for the kids). Hubby gets in at 7 and then I have to do our tea. Then I do put my feet up
but I also run an ebay shop with my mum, I mainly mantain it and do all the postage and listings as mum works full time.

Wow, didn't realise my day was so busy

Congrats on your retirement. You will love not having to get up at a certain time in the morning especially in the cold weather. No more bosses telling you what to do, I love that part. Happy Retirement.

If I weren't "retired", I wouldn't have time to take care of the cats that we care for - we have three inside cats, and 4 outside cats that picked us to care for them. (One was a stray male, and a female Feral - they had two kittens, all of which are now neutered, and in the process of being socialized, a slow-going process when they're outside - but, we're patient, and after 2 years for the adults, and 1 year for the kittens - they now know our home is theirs.

I spend too much time on my computer, and the internet, and not enough vacuuming cat fur.

Well, I'm not retired but I don't work outside the home anymore. I was a nurses' aide/home health aide for years but back troubles put an end to that.
I do a lot of crafting---I rent a booth in a local antiques and crafts mall. During nice weather I spend a lot of time going to yard sales (to help fill up my booth), I garden a lot, I watch Cubs baseball. Once the weather gets cold I do a lot of reading and I'm online more than I should be.

Your retirement time is very well spent, it's wonderful that you take care of those outdoor cats besides your indoor ones. As I said, time very well spent.

Ouch Cubs baseball, I'm a Cardinal fan and I come from NJ so not even near St. Louis. I did visit St. Louis twice just to see my team at home but that was years ago. Can't wait for the season to begin :-)

Yeah, your user name gives you away. I will admit, he's a heck of a manager.

What is it, 7 or 8 weeks 'til the pitchers and catchers report? I can't wait!

Oh, how I wish I were retired, or a stay-at-home mom/housewife! The irony is, I have enough years at work to retire, but am far too young (they also have a minimum age). I really would like to be a housewife (I can hear the snickering now from those here who are
)--seriously! I always wanted to have kids and be a stay-at-home domestic type. I'm not a career gal. I love to clean and cook, and putter around the house. Sadly, I will never have kids, so I have to work for a looong time. (I tried telling DH that our cats count as children, so they should have a mother home with them all day. It didn't work.
)

Honestly, with 10 cats, I could literally spend 8 hours a day cleaning my house in order to keep it up to my standard. I just spent 16 days off on vacation, and came to that conclusion--I still ended up doing laundry and cleaning a good part of the day.
