The bad night gets worse, Cuss words!!!!
The toilet has flooded again, 3rd time in a month. Not my doing, lol , it's the bad pipes, It ruined a lot of my stuff storred in my closet where the bathroom water runs off into.
So we have me here with a panic attact, freaked out my parents, cant sleep and have been deemed crazy. Now another flood, Its getting Biblical around here, and the heat is still not working proper.

ETA. Even the roaches are telling me Sorry, your on your on with this.
I don't actually hear the roaches, just trying to get some sort of laugh. I may knit them all teeny sweaters it is cold in here!

Oh no hun, I am so sorry, you're luck certainly is not in at the moment. Can you not claim for the damage to your stuff? Do you privately rent? sorry being nosey, you mention roaches, surely all this is your landlords problem (if you rent). xx

Make your landlords fix their property and if they don't, take legal action/call the police. If they never fix things move to another place, I am sure property values aren't so high right now that you can find the same type of place for the same cost. You need to stop thinking negatively, when something is wrong make plans to fix it rather than see it as the end of the world, everything goes to hell and you can't do anything about it.
I mean, I understand sometimes things get really bad and I hope you don't take this the wrong way. But what I see as the problem here is that you never post about trying to fix things. It is always about how you are powerless against the evils that your house puts you through.
I think you need help, maybe you've beaten alcoholism all on your own, but I think emotionally you are still not very stable ..

I was thinkIng about renters insurance, too, Nekomania.

Wow, you've got more than your share, Trillcat. I hope things turn 'round for you and soon.

Have you considered trying to hire a contractor to repair some of the things in your apartment and then suing your landlord to get the money back? Or contacting an organization in your area about your apartment? Is there a Codes department in your area? Anything like that? I'd definitely give them a call. Or two. Or three. Whatever it takes.

About 30 years ago, we rented a house while our house was being constructed. It looked like a really nice house, but once we were in, we realized that there were all kinds of problems with it. I called and called the landlord, but he was always too busy to come and fix anything. Funny though....when I finally started to withhold the rent, he was right there. I told him the rent would not be paid until things were fixed. And that I was only too willing to take him to court and to contact our Codes department; our water heater was broken and we had no hot water. He had one week to do something. And I was serious. Things were repaired, although we had problems with that guy all the time. I couldn't wait to get out of that place.

The day we moved out, he came in for the final inspection. He said that we were two months behind on the rent and he threatened us with his attorney. But.....I had kept every single cancelled check for the time we rented that place. I had them in order of the months and there were no gaps. And every check had the name of his business, the appropriate signatures that showed he had cashed them, etc. We never heard from him again.

You are entitled to live in a home with heat and with water. And not have to worry about what's going to break down next.

As for knitting sweaters for the roaches.......you've kept your sense of humor!

Definitely good to see!

Trillcat, I've found through life that whenever I feel stuck in a rut, depressed, discouraged... it becomes a rather self-fulfilling circle. I know you're aware of this, and you've started taking steps to make things better.

Keep going! Make a list of things you want to do, and do at least one thing every day that can help you put them on the "done" list.

I think right now you've got at least...

Get a job
Get a new apartment
Go to a doctor

on your list.

Start looking for apartments. Redo your resume.
Do things to help you network... maybe there's an Anxiety Society. Check it out - don't say "no" before you try.
...and while you may not have the security deposit and one month's rent together to move now, consider a room-mate situation short term? Or look into your rights as a tenant. I'm pretty sure a bug-free home is one of them. http://www.tenantresourcecenter.org/housing_counseling/

There are lots of resources online...

Maybe join a book club. Have you been to the library recently? Ours offers all kinds of things - from yoga to various book clubs - all free.

Google "positive thinking" and find exercises to do - and do one every day.

Here's an example: http://www.wisebread.com/feeling-stu...ange-your-life

You like cooking and want new things to do with vegetables... look for cooking groups or classes.

Google "Activities in City, State"
Google "Things to do in City, State"
Google "Free Cooking Classes in City, State"

Get creative - and search!
