Oww!!!! I am making a cat tree for NyghtShade using a carpet roll, and some carpet scraps left in the new place we are renting. I was using a staple gun to put the carpet on the roll, and oops!! My index and middle finger were in the way, and I stapled them. I shouldn't have had my fingers inside the roll where I was stapeling. That really hurt!

I hope Shadey appreciates the pain and blood so she can get into the basement window fun, and easily!!

I love my cat!

Be Save.

Keep a good eye on those wounds, staple injuries can get very infected. It is because the wound is so small, width wise, it closes up on itself and can trap bacteria in there.
Healing vibes for you, and ouch!!!!

OUCH! I agree, keep and eye on the wounds. I know how bad staples can hurt. At least you were doing something at the time. I once was on the phone at my old job and just toying around with things (ie, pens, penciles, stapler) and managed to get a staple in my finger. Yeah, not to bright, I know.

Thank you
My fingers are pretty tender and it doesn't feel very good to type. She got a carpeted post rather then a tree, but she can climb it and scratch it all she wants!!!

Be safe

You only get lockjaw from rusty metal wounds and animal bites I think.

So if your staples weren't rusty and you cleaned the wound out good I doubt you have anything to worry about.

but yes, I stepped on a rusty staple once, the kind used to hold up large wires in your house (serves me right for running around barefoot in the alleyway) and I had to go to the doctors. =(

They flushed it out which hurt horribly and then gave me a tetanus booster.

Ouch!!

I bled for my friends on my birthday last Saturday when we got cupcakes from this awesome place called Frosted and brought them home, they're rich, 5 of us and 6 cupcakes, we needed to be able to sample each flavor, so I was cutting them into quarters, with our brand new good knife set... and yeah, all of a sudden my thumb was dripping..
Then my friend took over cutting them while BF played nurse and cleaned and bandaged my thumb.

Today is the first day of no bandaid on the thumb, and it looks pretty good. Hooray for Neosporin!

My index finger is swollen, my other finger just a bit tender. I can't believe I did that. BUT... last night she climbed up it, and I woke up to her climbing up and down, and just being a little krazy kat!!
So it was well worth the pain and blood IMO. She's so worth it to me, just to see her being her little goofy manxie self
I love how happy she is in this new place with no other animals.

Thank you for the stories, glad to know I am not the only one!

Be safe.
