A little background information. Asher is almost 7 and we have had him since he was 6 months old. He was either a stray or feral when we found him. He was an only cat for four years and then we found Jack, who is almost 3. We found Jack when he was only a few months old. We did the whole slow introduction thing. Asher wasn't happy at first but then he seemed to learn to tolerated another cat. For the most part they get along pretty good but Asher will chase Jack around and when he catches up to him he will stand over the top of Jack and bite the back of his neck and then lick his head. Jack clearly doesn't like this as he meows. Asher just won't let up. He will chase poor Jack until he's worn out. Asher is definitely the dominant cat and Jack is more timid. It often gets to the point where we have to lock Asher up for a while to give poor Jack a break. I feel bad for Jack. Is this normal cat behavior is there something more going on? It's strange because on the other hand I've found them both snoozing close to each other on our bed. Thanks!
