Exactly a year ago, I was at the emergency vet clinic in town (only vet open on New Years) taking a very sick, almost dead kitten (Ally) to see the doctor. I was remembering yesterday afternoon jumping the fence to go into my neighbor's yard and find the source of the crying kitten sounds I was hearing. While I've since quit smoking - smoking is what led me to hear her cries so I guess Marlboro is partially responsible for Ally being alive. I caught my little friend on New Year's eve when she was about 4 weeks old. It's amazing how she went from sick, starving, and scared to healthy, happy, and sweet as could be. I didn't think her eye would make it, but with the exception of some chronic tearing, it's fine.

I remember not knowing anything about cats as you can see in my first post:

I have you guys to thank for all the help and information you gave me. I'm sure Ally would thank you too if she could.
Thank you.

Also, my other little buddy was born right around now last year. It's Ollie's birthday about now. So, now they're both 1 year old.

I'm going to post a pic soon of my two little buddies with their little Christmas hats and collars on next to a little Christmas tree. I meant to take it earlier, but Christmas got a little complicated and I've been taking care of my mother since she got out of the hospital. I'll post the pic soon. They look adorable with the little hats on.

Happy gotcha day, Ally and Happy birthday Ollie.

Cats are amazing creatures in adopting people, aren't they?

I remember your first posts - you were so dedicated to keeping that little girl alive and healthy. She couldn't have found a better dad.

It's great to see them doing so well, and best wishes that you and your family have a good new year - and especially that your mom has a quick and full recovery.
