My DH is such a goof. We were woken up at 6:00 this morning by Abbey and couldn't go back to sleep so we were laying there talking. Out of nowhere, he says, what if kittens had wings? It made me laugh so hard. So we started talking about what life would be like. First of all, when she was a crazy kitten she could dive bomb us. We would wake up to her chasing her tail, or attacking our feet, we'd wake up to her divebombing us. She be able to pretty much ANYTHING she wanted. Then we decided, that they grow, but their wings don't. So we laughed picturing our fat fluffy Cams with tiny wings, flying really low to the ground. Of course the kitten would divebomb her.

That is a funny thought.

Sometimes, I think our kitties really do have wings.

They can go anywhere, get into anything....
yep, when we aren't looking, I think they sprout wings and fly....
to the top of a door, the refrigator.....

OMG we talk all the time about what if our kitties had thumbs!

...but I love the idea of them having wings! Of course... to know what it's like, all you have to do is put up a shelf over your bed. We have overhead cabinets over the bed, and we used to let the cats up there. We decided to use them for our clothes and stuff again after having our tummies jumped on for the umpteenth time!

Ah-haha! I know what that's like, Cammy (gotta be around 12 pounds) jumps from the windowsill in our bedroom directly onto my stomach in the middle of the night. A little bit scary to be woken up that way.

Maybe wings would make for easier landings!

I have an adorable kitten poster of photographs of kittens with butterfly wings. The whole concept would make a cute kids story.

Oooo! We should start one, like a progressive story!
The title should be simple, "The Cat Who Had Wings"

OK, here it goes:

Once upon a time in an old barn in the forest, a mother cat had 3 baby kittens. But one was a little different than the others. He had wings!

Poor kitty, felt different and alone because of those awful things on his back.
He did not know what they were or how to use them.
His family could not help him...
they did not have wings.

the other cats would sometimes call him "Butterfly". He thought it was an insult, but to the other cats, a butterfly was simply a creature with wings. He wanted a new nickname - a name unrelated to his wings.

Nice addition but it was posted after the thread's move.

The story has been moved to the site's Paws and Reflect forum under the title....

Oh dear, I know how crazy the kitten's normal "crazies" are, imagine what they'd be like in all three dimensions!! Duck and cover!!

LMAO! That is a very funny thought! Then again the way I've seen some cats/kittens jump/move you'd think they already had wings, lol.

That's the truth! Whenever we've had kittens in the house, we've always joked about putting a sign over the bed "CAUTION! Low Flying Kittens!" True for Suzy and Sam, true for Cindy and Fawn.
Still true (though not over the bed) for Fawn -- and she'll be nine in May.
