Good thoughts for Teazer

Can I please have some good thoughts and prayers for my little cat, Teazer? She's at the vet overnight right now.

I don't know what happened. She snubbed her dinner Christmas and I thought she was just being picky but then she didn't eat anything for several days and then she got really lethargic and when she didn't even purr when I picked her up I knew something was wrong. The vet had me drop her off and she didn't make a peep the whole way there or when I got her inside (soooo not normal for her!). When I called in the afternoon they said they were very worried. They said that her temp was quite a bit under normal, which they said was very serious, she's dehydrated and they drew blood for a senior panel. They called back later to say that her situation is "still guarded", that they wanted to keep her overnight to give her fluids and keep her under the heat lamp and that they wanted to do one more blood test for T4, which the tech said stood for thyroid but so far they've been very scant on any other details. She's 15, going on 16 but she's been in excellent health up to this point and this came on so suddenly.

I'm a mess, I love that little cat so much. I just hope I got her to the vet in time.

for Teazer. I hope she gets feeling better soon so she can come home. that it's something that can be treated easily.

I am sending up some prayers for Teazer and you. It's so very hard to see our little buddys go through this. Hopefully, things will look up this am.

I want to say thank you so much for all the thoughts and prayers and hugs. You guys are wonderful.

I just got back from the vet. My little Teazer-cat is gone. She went into multiple organ failure. She was suffering and even if we hadn't done something she might not have lasted the day. So I went to hold her and tell her I loved her one more time while she slipped away after the shot. She managed one tiny little purr for me & wrapped her tail around my arm like she used to. The vet gave me a clay paw print. Now I'm home and I don't know what to do. She was a part of my life for 15 1/2 years.

But I wanted to tell you all, since you were all so good to keep us in your thoughts. Thank you.

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. At least you got to be with her!

I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs to you in this difficult time. Is there a friend you can call to come over and keep you company or get you out of the house to distract you for a little while? My friends who are also animal lovers were helpful to me when I had a cat pass away unexpectedly at the vets in 2003. I am glad you have a pawprint to remember Teazer by. Hang in there and cry if you need to. Everyone has their own individual grief process. This forum is a great place for support.

I'm so sorry for your loss. At least you got to be with her at the end - I'm sure she appreciated that.

Its hard to see the keys through my tears. I am so sorry. When they are with us so long, its like part of our own body has gone.

Take comfort that she lived so long and you realized something was wrong quickly.
