Oh, yes I do that often. Sometimes I even call one of them one of the horses names!

I almost never get their names mixed up. Only occasion is if I just yelled at somebody to stop doing something bad, then immediately I notice that another cat is doing something bad so I must yell at them too and I accidently call them by the first cat's name.

My fiance however not only mixes up their names but simply FORGETS. They'll come up on the bed and he'll say, "Well hi there, (pause)....um.....baby, what's the orange one's name again?" Then five minutes after I tell him, it's like the conversation never took place and I have to tell him again. After about the fifth or sixth time he just starts calling them 'kitty' or 'you' in hopes I don't realize it's because he forgot again.

I end up with calling them Much-Lucy-Carly.

My MIL once was mad at DH. It came out
Brother #1's name,
Brother #2,s name,
Brother #3's name,
Dog's name,
DH's name.

He has given her grief ever since. He was upset that he came after the dog.

I'm one of those who checked never - because I don't ever remember doing it! Maybe I do it and don't notice?

I think it's because we work from home so are here like all the time. There are three black & white kitties - but they all look SO different (at least to me). Tuxedo is little and wide with a round face and lots of white, and his tuxedo looks all ripped up. Sheldon is really tall and long with a triangular face and though he has his "black mask" on his face and short pants, otherwise he's mostly black. Billy is pudgy and almost all black - just the under belly, socks and his "milk mustache" are white.

In fact - I know who it is by the way they get on the bed - or if I'm asleep and wake up in the dark, I know who it is by touch.

I don't often mix up the kitties' names, but it has been known to happen on rare occasions. With four cats who all look different from one another, I really don't have much of an excuse, but, then again, now that I'm 27, my mind is mush
.

I'll occasionally get Cassidy and Delaney's names mixed up. I rarely get Emory confused with the others since she is the prim one who rarely finds herself in trouble. But, Cassidy and Delaney are both in-your-face kind of cats and are always getting into something. And, Finnegan, is also trouble so I suspect he'll be thrown in the mix as well once he's older and full grown. It'll especially be interesting once he is an adult since he is a long-haired ginger and white cat just like my Cass. But, she has more ginger than white and he is the opposite, so we'll see how that goes. I'll be interested to see if the consistency of his fur is different from hers as well, but it won't be for a while before I can tell that.

Now, I do get everyone else's names mixed up. I'm constantly calling my friends and family by other names and with my dogs it's the worst. I'm also always calling people by the wrong name at work. But, thankfully, no one seems to mind. Much of what comes out of my mouth is gibberish so I doubt anyone even notices. But, yeah, I have an impossible memory at times...

I very rarely mix up the cats names. However, when yelling at Forrest (the troublemaker of the household) I end up calling him my Son's names.

Thankfully I don't call my Son by the cats names.

Often for me - but whose bright idea was it to name my cats Flutterby & Fluffy (shortened to Fluffy & Flutty) talk about confusion central!

I rarely call mine by the others name but that only happens to the two black cat - Luvbug and Lil' Jag (especially when they are sitting right next to each other) - never Kuce (the calico).

I never had that problem whe it was just Sphinx and Kuce, then Sphinx, Kuce and Luvbug.

i went with OFTEN but there should of been an ALWAYS selection. I can't keep their names straight. So instead of going through all 6 names its like "whoever you are that is getting into trouble STOP IT!!!" Most of the time it is Possum and Sloth that get the name changes....they aren't even the same color but they cause the most trouble. I feel bad calling them the wrong name but a good petting usually makes everything better
