Outdoor catsafe plants

Thread Starter
I need help locating yard plants that are cat safe. I have a new enclosed back yard and want to plant safe small trees, shrubs and bushes.
The ASPCA list is a great list but it does not include these types of plants.
Almost ALL the indoor plants sold at any of the Building Supply Chains are TOXIC...Thanks to the ASPCA list we can choose the correct indoor plants as well as a grass patch (salad bar) for their own indoor use.
So I want to be very careful with what we plant in our backyard enclosure. I keep getting the same ASPCA list sent to me.
Thank you, but I'm looking for decisions on yard plants like ARBORURTAE GLOBE, ALBERTA SPRUCE, ARBORVITAE EMERALD GREEN, EUONUMUS, COMPACTA HOLLY, ACER JAPONESE MAPLE, BUXU BOXWOOD, HOLLIWOOD JUNIPER, LEYLAND CYPRESS, GULF STREAM NANDINA, CRYPTOMERIA, HELLERI, ILEX SKY PENCIL. ETC., ETC. None of these plants are on the ASPCA list as toxic or safe.
Our cats have always been indoor cats for all the obvious safety & health reasons. One of our many considerations when we bought our condo was to have our backyard enclosure for privacy, security and as a safe outdoor playground for our pets.
We discovered when buying our indoor plants that the Building Supply chains sell almost exclusively "cat toxic" plants. Based on this observation, my wife and I can not trust them with our outside plant choices.
We have been searching for a week to find answers. Everyone has been very kind in their efforts to be helpful. Thank you. Only it's the indoor list we keep finding or are being sent.
Our cats are salad-freaks. they will taste or eat what ever is planted.
That's ok. That's their nature. We're not trying to change their nature.
We just want to plant non-toxic plants in our backyard.
Any suggestions, aside from keeping them inside? Any websites that might have this info?
THANKS.

Hi, I am glad you take so much care to insure your kitties are safe. Here is what I found when I googled:

www.russianblue.us/plants.html. They have a huge list of outdoor plants toxic to cats.

also www.about.com.:cats. More good info.

Lots of information if you google it.
