We has a TNR (Trap - Neuter - Release) project with a colony of some fifteen cats. I was the one who organized the whole affair so I got quite involve and went to see how it was done. The first cats came in really easily. They weren't fed the day before, so they were really glad to see some food and get in the cage.

However there was this one calico female that was extremely cautious and we never did get her. It was incredible! We waited for hours for her to come and put the most delicious things in the trap, but she would only sniff and go away.

I'd love to hear some expert advice on that one!

Well, my advice is hardly "expert" on this subject, but it sounds to me like she's been trapped before.  Is the tip of her ear clipped?  Maybe you don't need to trap her.

On second thought, catnip?

This thread is over 15 years old so I bet the situation has been resolved!
