Ewwwwwwww, back to work today

We had a wonderful holiday...however I am looking forward to next year when we go out of town. So many families to visit and it drains me!

Off to work in a bit, I'm sure there will be numerous claims today

Our car broke down yesterday and it is in the shop with a $800 bill coming up. I was so frustrated with it yesterday we test drove a new car. What I wouldn't do for a new car not to have to worry about breakdowns anymore.

Anyway, off to the showers!

Well I think I may end up going to the walkin clinic..... this cold has progressed to more than just a cold, and I have a surgeon appt tomorrow that I need to get better for.

Good morning. A cold 31 degrees here! We're planning to go see the movie INVICTUS this afternoon. Beyond that, I'm not sure what we're going to do, maybe go out to supper.

Good Morning everybody!

I had plans to sleep in since I don't have to be at work until this afternoon, but when Josh's alarm went off at 7 I was wide awake. Despite my best attempts I couldn't go back to sleep,

I guess this gives me time to do some household chores. I have to fold/hang the massive amount of laundry we did this weekend. And I need to change the litterboxes this morning. Fun, fun, fun.

The weather is supposed to be getting bad this afternoon/evening. Temperatures in the mid 20's with Louisiana's version on snow- meaning 80% sleet, 20% snow and 100% gross. The roads are supposed to be getting bad overnight. Thankfully I'm off tomorrow (fingers crossed, highly likely I'll be asked to come in), so I can just get home tonight and wait it out.

The kitties are glad to have somebody home for their morning antics. Harvey has ruined two cups of my coffee thus far, one by sticking his paw in it, the other by dropping a toy into it,

. Danny has got the major zoomies so I've been almost tripped several times. And Luke's just happy to cuddle up beside me and look at me angrily when I get up.

It's cold here this morning! And the wind is howling. We're under a wind advisory until tonight, with gusts of 45 to 50 mph. No lunch walk today. That means I can spend my lunch break reading or playing online Mahjong....I am so addicted to that darn game.

I need to do some housecleaning, too. As much as I love having the holiday decorations throughout the house, I'm kinda glad when we can put them away again. Once the decorations are away for another year and the house is freshly cleaned and shining, I feel refreshed myself. Hopefully this weekend after the New Year, I can do some cleaning and de-cluttering. (But then I'll also feel sad because the holidays are over.....I can't win. And January is such a depressing month sometimes. Darn it.)

Snake Lady, be careful with that cold. DS had a "bit of a cold" on Friday, and by Saturday he was at the clinic with next thing to pneumonia. Now our DDIL and grandson are both sniffling. They're thinking of putting a Quarantine sign on the door to keep people way. Take care.

Trouts Mom, I know what you mean about wanting a new car. I hope you can find something that doesn't break the bank. Car repairs are no fun.

People in the southeastern US, be careful.....the weatherweenies are talking about a bad cold spell dipping way deep into the south. Stay warm!

Morning...

I've got a dr. appointment in about an hour. Fun times. I'll get some blood test results and I have some questions I need answered. I do not want to be rushed. I hate that.

Other than that, just work, my boss gets back from San Francisco sometime today, not sure if it's before i leave for the day or not. My other boss came back yesterday from Utah. She saw Avatar last week and said it needs to be seen, so we might take the afternoon off tomorrow and go see it.

Tonight BF and I are probably going to dinner with a gift certificate my mom sent us for this good beer bar/restaurant we go to a lot called Beachwood BBQ in Seal Beach. It's funny, she must've called or emailed the the place and had them send her a gift certificate from CA to PA, only for her to send it all the way back to us!

Hope you're feeling better soon. Today is a very lazy day for me, after taking a shower I put my pj's back on since it's so cold and windy here. Was supposed to go to Walmart today but the wind is way too strong so I'm here on the puter and then will read later.

Am defrosting hot Italian sausage since I'm making spaghetti for dinner. Again, feel better.

Hope the blood test results are negative, good luck. I have to see a Dr. next week to see what my MRI results are, not looking forward to it either.

It's really windy in MD too! I'm kinda being lazy today. I took my kid to school and now I'm at my old house washing 3 loads of clothes and on the internet. I'm going to get my niece this evening so she can spend some time at my house. I'm not cooking...we're going to eat burger king!

Well thanks LaRussa, but I have no blood test results!!!!!

Went to the doc, sat there in the waiting room for about 20 mins.. they call me to the window, I go up, they ask if i have an appointment. YES!!! They have no record of it. I am mad. They offer to reschedule, I say no, have the dr. call me. I'm guessing I won't hear from her til after 5 if at all today.

So I hope I can find my appointment card so I can write a mean letter and include the card and then charge them $75, since I missed about an hour of work and (while I don't get paid $75/hour) my billable rate is $75/hour. They have a sign in the waiting room saying they charge for missed appointments. Well how about it going the other way then?

That front office is a mess and I'm seriously thinking of switching doctors just because of that.

Evening everyone! Today has been interesting so far. I slept in a little (enjoying those last few days before school starts again!!) When I woke up I let all of the dogs out to play for a bit/etc. After that I did dishes (miss having a dishwasher!!) and cleaned out some more of my fish tanks.

Hagan's been a hellian all day long! He broke his food dish earlier, and then decided to play Houdini and somehow managed to get his blue id tag off of his AKC collar (which has a thick ring) while leaving his collar on his neck....what on earth!!!?????

It took me 5 minutes to get the tag back onto the collar.....I have no idea how he managed to take it off! (it was on there securly!)

Tonight I'm supposed to go to Jack's place for a bit of a date night.
