Well, sure, you are assuming he was drunk. IMHO embarrassing is to have people accusing him of being drunk and intoxicated on the floor, when clearly the "problem" was his heavy accent and his passion.
For me that is a man who told no lies - he was doing his job; IMHO he didn't say anything stupid, none whatsoever.
whoever put this video up needs to seriously contemplate getting a life.

The user name says it all.

Here is the complete video, not cherry-picking a sentence or two like the other one - he was absolutely not drunk... what shame to see this twisted in this manner! How can one watch this video and seriously say that this man was drunk? IMHO what a shame.

I've heard a number of people point out that he was probably extremely tired after the long hours they've been going through.

Even in the first video I didn't see any drunk demeanor about him...

Maybe there is something I am not seeing?

He didn't look drunk to me, and believe me, I can spot a drunk, more like his brain was going faster than his mouth could keep up with. Happens to the best of us.

No, he was stammering, big difference.
His eyes look normal, not red, when you are drunk your eyes go red.

Ya think? I don't know. I guess it's possible.

totally not drunk- if being drunk was the reason he was talking like that, there's no way he would have been able to be standing upright, he would have been bobbing and weaving all over the place.

Maybe it was prescription drugs then. You can't tell me that he wasn't under the influence of something.

We are all telling you. He wasn't, but then, in the end... you will see whatever you want to see

The sad thing about politicians? The culture of lunches, receptions and meetings where wine is served all day means that many of them are probably drunk on the floor so even if he was (and he doesnt appear to be to me) half of the other senators were probably getting drunk with him at some reception.

He sounds just fine to me.

I've seen / heard my share of drunks in my life, heard them talk, and I don't think Baucus is the least bit drunk. The man makes sense, which most drunks do not.

Well, it was no great example of speechifying, but as I said, it could have been fatigue. You know, Congress having to actually work more than 100 days in a year, and all. But if I put in that many late nights, I might not make much sense either.

Those poor crooks...only having to work 100 days a year.
