Cats and kids! Who as a child did not play in boxes??? My Dad has a pic of me, I think I was about 4 or 5, curled up snoozing on my blanket inside a stove box.
Also A pic of my brothers, twins, each in a box, me in the middle of them, in a box. It is the funniest pic!

Those people who are calling you wierd are obviously not cat people. Boxes are usually free, cat toys are expensive. You aren't wierd, you're financially responsible!

And cats ignore those expensive toys anyway.

NyghtShade thinks what the toys come in is what she gets. She doesn't understand the 'free item' included inside her cat toys.
She loves golf balls and the plastic that comforters come in. Throw a golf ball inside of one, and she goes nuts.

She has two larger flat fuzzy mice that velcro in the belly that you can put nip in. They've been through the washer a few times, and she loves those. The only real cat toy she plays with.

Be safe.

I've got a bunch of the kind of boxes that bottled water comes in, that swanie loves. I used to have a big box that some big item came in, I can't imagine what. Maybe his cat tree. Anyway, that was in the family room right by the door. Swanie liked to nap in there, but one time he decided he wanted to jump on top of it, and that was pretty much the end of that box

How can you have cats and not have boxes lying around?

THAT would be weird!

When we lived in a house, we used to build giant 3D box "mazes" by cutting holes that match up and taping them together. With all different size boxes, we just kept adding 'em - and tossing toys and treats and stuff in there and watch them go bonkers finding 'em!

I have boxes all over my house, mainly because everytime I try to throw one out, I end up with another empty one, so I just leave 'em till garbage day then take 'em all out. The cats LOVE 'em though.
