Shaking & Panting Cat

One of my cats got bitten (not badly) by one of my other ones and developed an abscess i took her to emergency vets who shaved and drained it but they left the wound open

he was healing and yesterday she managed to pull the scab off so now she has a huge open wound on her side right near her tail and she is shaking and occasionally panting and twitching

vets are all shut cos of Xmas

ive got her confined to the bathroom, she is eating and drinking fine just is obviously in pain or something and i dont what i can do

im giving her all her meds but she is very fiesty, even when not ill so i cannot clean the wound or touch her without her REALLY hissing and getting upset and i dont want to stress her more by trying 2 move, clean touch her

i dont want to let her out as she was running around and twitching and climbing into places and i dont want her hurting herself more or picking up germs from somewhere, least in the bathroom its clean and she cannot do any damage to herself as she cannot run around like crazy plus she was scaring my other two cats with her erratic behaviour

i am just so upset i have no idea what i can do to make her better

the cat who bit her has been put on clomicalm and he isnt himself at all which is depressing me as well, apart from chasing the other cats he was still very loving and affectionate, now he just doesnt do anything and hardly responds to any affection .... i think i am going to half his dose as i just cannot bear to just see him walk around in slow motion and lie around doing nothing all day

are there any er vets around? the shaking, panting and twitching are bad signs. its quite possible that an infection has spread through her blood stream. cat bites are very serious - and the reason im typing with one hand.

has your regular vet left a number to call in the event of an emergency? is there an animal hospital in the general area?

she has always been a twitchy cat after she had some shots and reacted to them

she slept through the night and ate a decent amount of food this morn

i will keep an eye on her and keep her comfortable

i took her to the animal emergency - cost me $577 they are the ones who treated the abscess

i think if she moves around too much she gets stressed then twitches more then pants, in confinement she is just resting and is much better
