Me too, I had my daughter when I was 18, she is 8, I have been with my hubby 9 years, we have had one christmas without any children and thats it but the kids faces on christmas day is a picture. No matter whether you have children or not like you say spending time with your family is the greatest gift ever. Btw I love your name choice, so pretty. xOriginally Posted by NoRachelHere
Thank you! I can not wait to be a mom. I have wanted it from the day that I knew that women had babies. I have always said that having a family is the most important thing in my life. All of the other stuff is just extras!!!
#3 on it's way but I haven't had a cheap Christmas in 12 yearsOriginally Posted by NoRachelHere

Yeah, I dont like to buy junk gifts. I want her to know the meaning of gift giving is not the ammount of the STUFF but the through that it takes! Very cute about the blanket!!!
I also dont by crap toys for even our neices and nephews. I like things that make them think, or take a level of creativity to play with! I refuse to buy toys i know they will look at once and never touch again!
And thank you about the name! Our first pick was Teagan, but after a google images search for the name we quickly changed our minds!!!! There is an adult star who is named Teagan Presley and I refuse to have my child ask me why we named her after her!
buwahahahahahaha I did too at first and then I was like Ohh!! Her name is in the siggy!!!Originally Posted by kluchetta

Unless I decide to make one....Makes all the uncomfortableness of late a little easier to forget!
Until a couple weeks ago I had a dress I received at my shower on display here in our study.Originally Posted by NoRachelHere

My favorite toys are the ones my Grandfather made in his woodshop. He made me a dollhouse which is at my parents for safe keeping for now. He also made me a cradle and various other toys (used to use the rubber band gun to play with the cats...they loved it!). Grandpa made lots of the furniture for the dollhouse and my Gram sewed the curtains and things too.Originally Posted by mrblanche
Some items we got as children that really stayed with us:
1. A child-sized wooden rocking chair. We still had it when I graduated from high school.
2. A hand-made wooden doll house. My sister still has this today, almost 50 years later.
3. A simple marble race track. Couldn't have cost $10 to build. Again, I actually played with it until I graduated from high school. It and the doll house were projects built by my sister's grandfather, who was a great carpenter (and a Jewish refugee from Germany after WWI).
4. Hand-made quilts and clothing, such as the knitted hats my mother used to make.
I'll bet others could mention some things they had, too.
