Hello Everyone!

So I wanted to share my experience so far with my boyfriend who is really allergic to cats. If you want to read my original thread please go here: http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...=204106&page=3 but you can reply on this one.

Well, I haven't moved in yet (a lot of things logistical have to be worked out) but...I've been bringing my boy Shermie and my girl Luna over for 1-2 days a week. I've also been bringing them over separately a couple times too. It seems that my boyfriend is not that allergic to Shermie - he's even slept at the foot of our bed w/o any major problems. But Luna is a different story, it seems like he's worse w/ her around. Now, I've only brought her over w/ Sherm, so I don't know if it's the 2-cats thing or just Luna.

My boyfriend does also take allergy pills (i have no idea which ones as I bought him all 3 kinds) but they don't seem to do a ton of good either way. Also, i've been brushing them before they go over, but i've gotten lazy w/ Sherm b/c boyfriend does not seem to have problems around him. Boyfriend has even gotten to petting him.

SO the Luna thing is kind of distressing but I haven't lost hope yet. I have read reviews of Allerpet C (the for cats version) - this solution that you rub on cats' furr that supposedly reduces dander, and 99% of them have been good. And the 1 bad review i found wasn't helpful anyway. And the great thing is that it's only like $7-10! I was thinking it would be way more than that. So here goes...I'll post an update as soon as I use it a few times!

P.S. if anyone has their own reviews of this product or any other suggestions not mentioned in the above thread, p-lease post here!

Oh I hope it works! One of our seven kitties really is tough for me. I use Zyrtec-D (the one with the decongestant), and I keep the allergy visine stuff around... and I have a prescription steroid creme for the hives. But Ming Loy is just LOADED with whatever I'm allergic to in cats - and when she is petted, she drools, and OMG it is insane! Thankfully she likes to sleep at the end of the bed, and she's often just has happy to have Gary pet her, because having her in my lap just breaks through all of the meds.

Thanks for the update. I'm glad he is willing to work things out. How do the cats do with the traveling, and change of location?

Maybe prescription allergy meds would be better than otc?

I am glad he is willing to do this for your and your furkids!
