Sorry, another rant
Well December has been an awful month for me and my family, hubbys gran died, I got a bad viral infection which I am still recovering from, my bunny died and now today I slipped on the stairs straight into the grandmother clock which belonged to my hubbys gran. I have cut my head and have had to have 7 stitches, its on my forehead going upto my hairline. I have been told it is deep and will scar badly. I am so upset, I just can't believe my bad luck, will things get any better? I can't bear to look at my head it looks awful, I don't want a scar there. I am so sorry to rant, I hope chrismas day is a really god day and all this bad luck ends in 2010. x

for better luck in 2010 hun!!

just think your hiar will cover the scar, or get your hair styled to cover it more.

things will get better just keep telling yourself that they will and then they will im finding after my rough patch thinking positive is helping.

I am so clumsy at the minute, the nurse at the hospital said christmas is th busiest time for accidents as everyone is so stressed and not concentrating fully on what they are doing, gosh yeah that is most certainly true. I have to laugh about it or I will just cry and cry, I am so vain lol just not wanting a scar on my face, gosh it could have been worse. x

Find some of this: www.mederma.com for the scar once it is healed. Also, if you keep it out of the sun for one year in addition to using the cream, you will not have much scarring. Too bad plastic surgery could not have sutured the wound.

Healing vibes....

When things like this happen it is very hard to keep on a happy face even tho it is the Holiday Season. I know you were hurt pretty bad and like someone else said, your hair will cover the scar. I wish better things for you now and into the New Year. I am sorry you lost your bunny, I think you have had enough of lousy luck for awhile so things should start looking up.

Time heals

Last year was really rough for me at Christmas...I literally moved out of my home and lost everything on Christmas in order to get out of an abusive marriage and save my life. It was really tough, but I made it!! (with a TON of TCS support and love and my family!). I've since started med school, and when I was NOT looking to date, God brought the most amazing man into my life (it's been over 7 months now!). It's been a long, tough year...but I've made it and I couldn't be happier. (I had a few small cries this week since it was the 1 yr mark for me....but overall I'm soo much happier!!) I have a feeling the new year will bring lots of good things for you!
Chin up sweetie!!

Next year is a fresh start!! For me last year, the start of a new year meant the start of a new life for me (I celebrated by adopting my puppy Hagan last year on New Yrs. Eve). Let this new year be a good fresh start for you! I've found it helps if you stay busy and help others...it takes your mind off your troubles and helps you get into a better mood (volunteering is a great way to do that!)

(PS...scars are always neat because they always have stories behind them and give people character. (I have one shaped like a half moon lol....) Everyone has scars and stories. There's nothing a fresh hair cut and a smile won't cure! (I personally like the lolcat website when I'm feeling blue!)

It always seems these thing travel in bunches. With any (good) luck, the coming year will be better.

As far as scars are concerned, plastic surgery can help some, but for most of us, they're just something we've lived with. I've had a big one on my face all my life, although nowadays you can't see it very well.

Hey love? I had Carpal Tunnel surgery back in 2004 and the physical therapist told me that Vitamin E put on the ouchie will help it to not scar and show as much. She was SO right. I can hardly tell where they did the incision or anything. Maybe you can try that?
BIG HUGS for a better year!!!!!!

O-H-I-O!
I am so sorry! That must've been an awful experience! I will also agree that scars fade. When I was 2 our german shephard bit the entire right side of my face. I had multiple stitches(I can't remember how many. They even told my mom I may need plastic surgery when I'm older to repair the scarring.)I'm 24 now and no one really even notices. I have multiple tooth scars all down my right jawline where my cheek starts. I also have a tooth mark right above my lip. No one notices them. I think they really started to get lighter when I got a little older. My hair covers the scars. I will try to find pictures of when it happened and pictures of me now. It WILL get better! At least your hair may cover it
Have a Merry Christmas anyways and keep your chin up! It WILL get better!

BTW we did NOT put the dog down. I used to pull his face and bite his nose and pull his tail. To this day, I don't think he meant to hurt me like he did. We never had any problems after this incident and he lived another 5 years afterwards.

My gosh and there's me moaning about a few stitches. I am happy today, the kids are excited and thats what christmas is all about, my scar will fade and its a part of me now, so accept it I must. I think its just that we have had such bad luck lately. I have a wonderful family and great people to chat to on here, what else could I ask for. We have so many soldiers losing their lives in Afghanistan and so young too, I am just grateful for what I have got. xx

Was it a doctor who said you'd scar badly? They try so hard to make they're stitches as neat as possible, especially on the face. Though some scarring cannot be avoided, it's often people who don't get stitches that end up with a big, jagged scar. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. Bless your heart, you've been thru so much and you certainly deserve it!
