He does this 3 times a day now on average.

He goes to sleep under the bed. But when he gets into that area where he sleeps really deep, he'll come crawling out from under the bed and make this pathetic, raspy meow with his eyes half closed.

Then he comes over to me, jumps in my lap, crawls up my chest and I put an arm under his back feet for support. He flops over, laying sideways on my chest.

He goes to sleep.... but he moves during this period, often reaching his feet out behind my head to stretch, then falls asleep there.

Like this

Is that cute or what?

I know that pose! Ari curls up in my arms and nuzzles my cheek.

*Reaches over and tickles Wilbur's toes*

Awww bless him, of course cats have to be comfy, never mind if we have to stay in the same position with a stiff neck for 4 hours

man, I keep missing replies. I have a subscription but Google (gmail) is dumping anything from this domain to spam. Someone must have reported the site! turds

ANyway, I think to me it's a big deal because I love cats that like affection. I was bummed for a long time because neither wilbur or tinker like to be held, or petted. But wilbur has completely flipped that. if he's sleeping under the bed and I lay down he immidiately pops out and jumps on the covers to lay by me. Tinker will sneak in and sleep at my feet
but she does NOT like affection. The only thing she likes is to be brushed, but that took a long time to get too.

so it makes me feel good that Wilbur likes to sleep like that. Although i know it doesn't look bad, but he's kind of heavy, and after about an hour my arms get tired.

That is soooo sweet. I swear - cats are like kids... and they go through phases... here's hoping that the displays of affection are not a passing fancy.

he's starting to do it a lot more. I don't think it's a faze. I think he's just learning that it's OK to sleep there. Know what i mean? i mean this is wilbur, he's always jumped into my arms, but it use to be so he could suck his feet

as a tiny little runt.

then a little older.

So jumping up there is normal, but he had changed over to just sitting there while I pet him, and it dawned on me that he might just be wanting to cuddle. So i would stop petting him. sure enough he'd just start falling asleep. but he'd wake up a little and jump down.

Now he sleeps long enough to go into REM, and even standsup, changes to the other side of my neck, and plops down again. lol.

it's great!
