This beautiful baby is 8 mo old Alia. She is with me for a couple of weeks while she recovers from a URI. She is super sweet and incredibly forgiving of my inept attempts at pilling her! I don't think she was at the shelter very long before she got the URI. I can't believe such a beauty won't be adopted quickly once she is made available again. Her "van" pattern is almost perfectly symmetrical.

Wow! I dunno about anyone else, but I am love her ears! Plus, I like how she has strands of white among the black on her tail.
She is such a cutie!

Thanks for the nice comments!

As gorgeous as she is I'm worried about what will happen with her since she is going to miss the big Christmas adoption season. Cats are flying out the door at the shelter while she is stuck with me.

First of all she is soooo beautiful! Those emerald eyes, and her markings, how unique! Such a beautiful girl! I think it's best she is home with you because you will make sure she is all better before she goes up for adoption, and give her love in the process! While it's great that so many pets are adopted over the holidays, it sometimes worries me that they may be thought of as a gift rather then a life that needs a home.

Thanks! She has a wonderful disposition too!

I know what you mean. The shelter tries to make sure people know they need to be very sure about what they are doing when they give an animal as a gift. It's a potential problem regardless of the time of the year. We have very little control over what happens once they leave us. All we can do is educate adopters as well as we can and hope for the best.

A couple of weeks ago I got 3 adorable 8 week old kittens that needed to gain weight before they were eligible for adoption. I got them the same day they were turned in to the shelter. I was able to return them last Sun (20th). I hated the thought of them living in a cramped little cage after having full run of my guest bedroom. I was very happy when they were all adopted on Tues. I was happy they only had to spend a total of 2 days at the shelter. I prefer to assume they went to wonderful homes where they will be happy and loved. If I'm going to assume something I prefer to assume that!

Merry Christmas!
