Angel Eyes?

Just curious if anyone has tried the product, Angel Eyes, for cats who get tear stains on white fur?

My vet has advised me against using any of the tear stain products on the market, she recommended washing the face, area around the eyes 2xday. I do this religiously but our kitty still has the marks from tear stains. Just wondering if anyone has tried this product and had success.

the main ingrediant is a amino acid ... ie ask your vet if that is okay and then hit the health food store and get the amino acid... WAY WAY cheaper... yes it does help

My vet recommended against it because it contains an antibiotic and she felt that the cons outweighed the pros.

My vet advised me not to use that product which is why I was asking about the Angel Eyes instead. I think my vet is very conservative which is why she told me to wash around that area twice a day. However, being a persian he sticks his whole face into the food bowl, then his face and chest into the water bowl. Even his chest is a reddish brown color.

Sharky, thanks for the advice about the amino acids.

Update: tried the Angel Eyes and he absolutely refuses to eat.
This is a cat who will eat anything and for him to refuse food it must be awful. I purposely got the chicken flavor since that was the recommended flavor for felines. I even used 1/2 the amount to start with and then tried adding a little water but still no success.
