I am preety sure there are other people on here with cats with IBD. I was wondering what people feed them? I do not have a 100% diagnosis on Jordan, but he has the symptoms of IBD & seems to be having a flare up. I was feedin ghim Taste of the Wild, Rocky Mountain Formula & he was doing great. Then when I saw Evo had a weight management formula I added that. Well now I really think it was that, that cause the problems. I am just wondering if anyone else feeds a comercial brand, or if people are using perscription foods? (He was at the vet last night & I will work with his vet to get him on the right food, just curious about others experiences.)

Zoey has very mild ibs( vets here rarely use the term ibd).. she eats anything as long as it has NO corn, wheat or soy and I limit what fish and lamb if any she gets... she eats kirkland dry with felidea right now.. wet varies but is no grain or low grain and her preferred freeze dried and raw is beef... With her as with me it is allergy related so IMHO easier to care for

One thing you can do if you think it is the new food is compare the ingredients in the old food with the ingredients with the new food. There may be something in the EVO that your cat has an intolerance to. Many cats have intolerances to chicken, beef, fish, grains, etc.

My cat had constant diarrhea for 8 years and the vet I was seeing just siad he had a sensitive stomach and pumped him with medications and had me feed him Medi-Cal Hypoallergenic but his diarrhea always returned. So he would pump him with more medications and switched his food to Royal Canin Sensitivity. Same thing - his diarrhea always returned. I finally took him to 2 new vets that advocate raw feeding. After discussing Bishop's long standing symptoms one of the vets threw out the terms IBS/IBD. After much research on feline nutrition and raw feeding I decided to switch Bishop over to a raw food diet. The holistic vet helped set up a diet. And since I started feeding raw in sept/08, Bishop has been diarrhea free. His fur is not dull and flaky anymore - it is beautiful and shiny

Whimsey, the love of my life, has SEVERE IBD. I have him on Radcat raw turkey which banished the diarrhea and acupuncture which is controlling his vomiting. If you want to hear more than you wish to about IBD PM me.

Hey there!  I am glad TOTW worked for you: go back to it. RUN don't walk!  I had my Dexter examined at the vet twice, tested for the typical kitty diseases we vaccinate for, fecal exams ran, and put him on a very expensive prescription diet for a month and a half with very little change in his belly issues.  He still vomited and had the runs every day.  Plus it was very hard to feed him seperately from my other four cats.  I heard about TOTW, tried it, and within a week Dex had stopped vomiting and his stools were firmer.  All the cats have shiny coats and they eat far less kibble since it is higher in protein, filling them up with less food consumed.  I spend a little over $30 a month on dry TOTW for FIVE cats!  TOTW has saved Dexter and my finances....I can't give it enough praise.

Welcome to TCS merrydrake! I'm not sure you noticed, but you're replying to a thread that's three years old. :)

So glad your cat is doing so well on TOTW.
