Welcome back Sun!

The Solstice was yesterday, I didn't get a chance to post, computer problems.
(its OK now)
I didn't stay up all night like I did last year, have too much to do today to sleep half the day away, lol. I did wake up at sunrise though to welcome the sun back.
Had a nice night, lit a lots of candles, made a nice dinner, ate a lot of icecream and peppermint hot chocolate, meditated on the coming year.
Hope all the Pagans here had a lovely day and night, (and everyone else too!) and for those who did keep the vigil, YAY to you!!!

Happy Solstice from here too!

I mentioned it yesterday in another thread where I said that my kitties got some cat nip toys and treats as we 'celebrate' the winter solstice rather than christmas, they got their other present even earlier..cuz I'm impatient.

And to you too! I am not a Pagan as such - only an atheist, but I love the idea of celebrating the return of the Sun, and all the life it brings. WE have something to look forward to with the eventual coming of Spring.

I know I was very negative about it before, but there is something about the day when it is here that affects me deeply.
Not a day for being negative, despite myself!

I had no idea that it was celebrated like that. I personally am always happy because it signals progressively longer days, even though it comes at the start of winter. It's like a little something positive to celebrate!

I didn't get to do much for Yule this year. I had work the next day.
Not much more than an acknowledgement really.

My family is Christian and i was raised catholic so my fiance and i are the only pagans. We celebrate Yule right along with our families Christmas. A lot of the traditions are the same anyway after all.

I thought about Yule that morning; by that afternoon I had my Jack at the vet's and it totally slipped my mind until I got up the next morning.
I hope everyone had a lovely, peaceful night.
