I'd like to write "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" in Polish in a card for my lovely neighbour who is from Poland.
Does anyone know or know someone who does speak Polish? I tried Babel Fish, but it doesn't have Polish on there.

I tried www.poltran.com, and they don't seen to have a word for Merry, so I tried Happy Christmas and Happy New Year instead and got:

Szczęśliwe Boże Narodzenie i Szczęśliwy Nowy Rok

Indeed!

Edit: translation.babylon.com says:

Wesołych Świąt i Szczęśliwego Nowego Roku

And this page says:

Merry Christmas - Wesolych Swiat Bozego Narodzenia

Happy New Year: Szczesliwego Nowego Roku

And this website says:

Wesolych Swiat, Bozego Narodzenia i Szczesliwego Nowego Roku!

So I think that one seems the most common - I don't trust the websites that do a straight word for word translation with no context.

That's a very sweet gesture. ^^ I am sure any of those from the websites would do. Even if it isn't perfect I am sure your neighbor would appreciate the effort to honor her heritiage.

I use google translate for all of my translation needs, I sometimes have to translate to and from languages that are both native to me because I forget words and they are at the tip of my tongue (it's really annoying)- google works really well- here is the link although you don't really need cuz it's exactly what sarahp already said

I'm sure my Great-Uncle knows but I don't have his number. And I think if I did it would take me longer to get him to understand who I am than to get the answer.
Not that he doesn't know who I am; it would just be completely out of the blue!

That's great guys! Thank you all for your help. I had no idea there were so many translation websites out there!
I will go with the most common one, spell it out carefully, and won't even attempt to say it out loud!

I thought it was really cool too - I had a great time listening to them and trying to pronounce them

My husband is 100% Polish and there are members of his family that still speak the language. He and I joke about how nothing ever sounds like it looks like when it is spelled out. A lot of zzzz's and ish's in the pronounciations. Of course never say that to anyone who lives in Poland!!

I know a little bit but I don't know "Merry Christmas" or anything.
You've already gotten the advice I would have given

Very nice gesture, too.
