Just adpoted our new kitten last week... He's 4 months old yesterday and he's HUGE! Already weighs nearly 8 pounds... He's going to be a very big guy, we're going to have our hands full with this one.

The vet gave him a clean bill of health. He had to do a double take when he looked at his weight and age. Then the vet laughed and said you're going to have a very big cat on your hands.

We were aware Maine Coons get big as our last one was 15 pounds, but I'm thinking this guy is gonna grow up to be at least 20 pounds, lol!

In the animal shelter that I volunteer at we had a Maine Coon last week, a male that did in fact weigh 20 pounds. He was snapped up day one. He was a pedigree with papers and we only had him for one day. He was two years old and his former owners were moving to Europe so put him in the shelter with a NO KILL guarantee, in other words this shelter will let you specify a NO KILL and if your cat remains after the 30 day mark you can get him back. The vast majority do not specify this however.

The new owners are deliriously happy with this cat as I have spoke with them on the phone yesterday.

Pictures, pictures, pictures!!! LOL

My Smudge is a Ragdoll, and it's interesting; he's quite large, probably 10% larger than Clyde, but Smudge only weighs 13 pounds and Clyde 13.5. I love big kitties!

So my new Maine Coon kitty is 4.5 months old now (born Aug 18th), and he weighs 9.8 pounds now as of this morning, LOLOLOL! He is largest "kitten" I've ever seen. Pictures of my big guy are coming as soon as I get the pics off the camera and on to the computer. Vet says he's perfectly healthy and growing up fast. I forgot how fast kittens grow up. And I forgot how much ENERGY they have.

Has anyone else ever seen a 9.8 pound kitten at 4.5 months? I'm just wondering how big he's going to grow up to be. I'm already guessing he's going to get bigger than the other Maine Coon I had previously who was 15 pounds when he was full grown. Any guesses on how big this guy will be when full grown? Ok by me, all the more area for lots of scritchies, brushing and belly rubs.

NICE! I can't wait for a picture. My kitties are 4.5 months too, I think they are around 5.9 lbs and 6.2 lbs. I can't image how big a 9.8 lbs is. Show us please !
