We took Much into the vet last month because she was vomiting and lethargic. The vet did x-rays and saw a spot on her lung near the spine. Thinking she may have pneumonia, we did a round of antibiotics and had the follow-up today. The spot is still there so the vet thinks it is a tumor.

Given that she is 16 years old, I've decided to not do the surgery. The vet said that the surgery would be major and I'm not sure how much it would enhance her life. So we've decided to monitor it so that it doesn't start causing Much pain.

Not really looking for advice, just wanting to sort it out for right now.

Thanks everyone. I know I'm doing the right thing and Much may have several years ahead of her if this tumor grows slow enough. It just reminds me of her age and mortality. And it is still sinking in.

Sending tons of vibes for you both. Hopefully this is slow growing so that you have plenty more time together.

Thinking of you both

Jana....
I'm sooooooooooo sorry. But does she seem over the vomiting and lethargy? I hope so, that it was just a passing thing as far as that goes, and you still have a long time with her.

I'm sorry to hear that, Jana. Here's hoping that it is slow to develop, and you have lots more time left together than you fear.

She seems over that. This morning, she wrestled with Lucy. Much always starts it with a headlock flipping Lucy over. This an 8 lb geriatic girl dragging down a 14 lb cat.
