Excitement for Marlow

It seems like Marlow has been just moping around since we confined him to indoors. Nothing much could get him going. I was afraid that indoor living might not be in his best psychological interest. He still wants to go out. He plays some but not alot and not vigorously. Until today! I got the boys a "da bird" at a cat store in Nashville, TN on Wednesday. I knew about the toy from this web site but had never been able to find one locally. I played with the rescued kittens in the store with a "da bird". They were ok with it but they liked everything. I got it out this morning and Marlow and Sasha went nuts. I never saw Marlow move and jump like that. Sasha was even more animated. I had to shut it down before they both got sore and needed massages.

Thing is, I almost didn't buy it. The one I played with in the store had one feather missing. It was slow and lifeless. When I first waved a new one in front of my boys I knew it was special. The fluttering drove them to excitement not seen before. I'm getting every cat I know one for Christmas.

Also, I have been allowed to pet Marlow a little more. He still goes through periods during the day when I cannot even approach him. But I saw hope this morning. Hoping to brush him by February.

Are there any pet superstores in the UK? I'd just look for it in places you can shop online. We'd never found one near us, but we just order them online.

Da Bird or similar toys.. like Feline Flyer ... are just fab for getting even the most sedentary cats moving!! Even my lard bottomed Archie runs around and positions himself so he can try to catch it. My Jakie usu. catches about 4 ft of air!!! He is definitely the best jumper of the bunch.

I ordered two more of them for gifts and got a three pack of replacement guinea fowl birds. Expensive with the shipping but a very good value in a toy. Whoever thought this thing up has done a service to cats everywhere.

Da Bird is da bomb in our house! My kitties love it, even my older somewhat sedentary cat. I'm so glad Marlow was interested in it and enjoyed the playtime with it!! That's great!

I just got the new little mouse attachment for DaBird and my cats went APE over it this evening! Merry Christmas to them!
