I want to feed Neko one 3oz can of wet food a day.
If dry alone, (based on age, weight, and the current dry food), says feed 5/8 cup...

How much do I cut back on the dry so that she is also taking in 3oz of wet per day?

I dont want to overfeed her.... and i tried figuring out the math... but...
need some help

Thank you

In order to help, we need to know her weight (whether she needs to gain or maintain) age and the type of wet food so that we can see the nutritional info of the wet food

The labels on bags and cans are guidelines... they don't take into account your cats activity level.

Generally speaking, an active adult cat needs 25-35cals per pound of body weight. A cat that is not very active can use 18 cals per pound.

Pregnant, nursing and kittens need higher amounts of calories.

She will be 8 months on the 27th. Weighs around 7lbs. Very active! The canned foods I'm feeding our a variety of Nutro Max, Purina ProPlan Selects, Avoderm, and Authority.

Avoderm- 73 kcal/can

Nutro Max - 95-99 kcal/can (flavors diff cal, she likes all three)

Purina ProPlan Selects - 95 kcal/can

Authority - for a 5.5oz is 210cal but i only purchase 3oz.

all calorie content, except avoderm were found on this site:

thank you for your help!

general rule of thumb is 1-2 oz per lb of body wt when feeding wet only..FOR a kitten under a yr
so roughly 7 to 14 oz a day of just wet

if feeding 50 wet 50 dry

1/4 to 1/3 cup dry and 3-7 oz wet

of course this is very rough ... Chris
gave the calorie breakdown
