Meaning that she was in the litterbox, which is near the bed so I saw her while i was sitting putting my socks on. She squatted like she was peeing, and then turned around to look/sniff, so i looked too and there was nothing there! But i smelled cat pee, like maybe a drop came out on her fur or something.

Not sure if she got 'stage fright' from me being right there or if there's a problem so I called the vet and explained andthey want to see her today. So we're going in later this morning. It's always something with that cat!

Wish us luck...

And good for you for getting into the vet ASAP - I was fortunate that when my boy started showing UTI symptoms I was home for the Labor DAy weekend and got him in, per the vet, nice and early. Thank goodness, with antibiotics and Hills CD, he passed his first check up urinalysis with flying colors. But it's so easy to just not catch it right away - I know you're glad you saw, and, again, good for you for making the appointment immediately.

Aww, now I feel silly for even starting a thread on this.

The vet checked her out, poked her and squeezed her and all that and said her bladder felt small and empty so she didn't think it's an obstruction. It could be an infection but she thought Genever is probably ok based on her observation. She said it's good I came in though, and the exam changed it from potentially life-threatening to probably ok.

We think maybe she just got shy and didn't pee cos I was right there.

However, the vet said if she doesn't pee normally by tomorrow morning, then I should bring her in right away and they'll get some urine and do the urinalysis and whatnot.

I'll update tomorrow and let you know if we're good or not.

In the meantime I got a nifty pill gun so i can give her Pepcid again in hopes it will help with her puking issues which are still ongoing.. (i stopped giving it to her on 12/1 when i started a diet of ONLY NB duck & pea. no Pill Pockets allowed.)

Please pass over the pee vibes if you've got 'em!! Thanks!

That she just didn't have much to pee earlier this morning and that was it.

I hope the Pepcid helps.

Awww, glad you took her in, if for no other reason that to alleviate your concerns. Is she pottying normally yet?

She peed!!

She peed sometime between 6:30-8 last night, and then I scooped it out, and then shortly after she peed again but a teeny amount. So I was worried, but then again I was right there so it might've been a pee-shy thing again, or as strange-wings had told me her cats do, it could've been 'marking' a clean box.

So I thought I'd see how it goes by this morning, there were more pee pieces (she digs forever so she breaks up the clumps) like there usually are.

So I think we're in the clear. Thanks for your pee vibes!
