I am trying to come up with some fun 'stocking stuffer' type gifts for my Mom. Internet searches keep coming up with ideas for Moms to give to their kids, which isn't what I need.

A little history - my mom lost her job nearly 2 years ago and hasn't worked since. Now she lives in an 'in law suite' in my brother's basement and is basically a professional mom/grandma. Obviously she doesn't have much 'spending cash', and my siblings and I thought we would fill her out a stocking of little things to make life a little more comfortable without having to ask us for those things... Of course I think I've already got too much stuff for a stocking so it may be a box, but you get the idea.

Currently I have picked up the following items in her preferred brands (which really add up!):

- Soap
- Lotion
- Shampoo, Conditioner & Styling Cream
- Toothbrush, Toothpaste & Super Floss
- Powder
- Mini Pedicure set
- Some Christmas Chocolates
- Soft Fuzzy Socks
- Dog & Cat Treats for her pets

We've already each gotten her a gift this is just a little something on the side. She's especially difficult to shop for as she really doesn't have any hobbies or activities that don't involve her family, and she doesn't really "need" anything. Soooo basically she's impossible! But I love her and want to get her some things to make her happy at Christmas.

Any ideas greatly appreciated!

Gift cards are always wonderful. Maybe a few books from her favorite authors. Maybe a show she likes on DVD? If she is a coffee drinker, maybe a pound of coffee with a coffee maker / french press?

I have the same problem shopping for my mom; she's very hard to shop for. I am sure she will love whatever you give though. Good luck.

Ohh, and along with your list of stocking stuffers, maybe some lint rollers? I don't know how much her furries shed, but they might come in very useful!

Have fun!

I was going to say buy some small gift cards for a few different places - grocery store, pet store, retail store - depending on what you want to spend $5 here or $20 there.

Gift cards are a great idea to get for anyone who is hard to shop for..

But, maybe some nail polish in colors she likes, and nail files to go along with the pedicure set?

I think you have a good list already. It's the only thing I would add.

That sounds like a stocking anybody would love to get. What about stamps? They are so horribly expensive to be such little things.

Stamps - thats a good idea!

I also ordered her a case for her new cell phone we got her a few months ago. She already has all the chargers for it, etc.
