Woke up to a white carpet this morning, and it is still coming down. We have had hard frosts the last two nights, so I am not surprised. Fortunately I did all my shopping earlier in the week and I have plenty of cat food, so we shall be snug, because there is no way I can drive down the hill and through the little lanes in this. My friend was going to come over today to help me grout a tiled floor and to put my tree up, but she can't make it, nor can my carpenter who is finishing off some work, hopefully before Christmas. The ponies are in their shelter munching hay, I have filled their trough with hot water, and the cats and I shall all have a lazy day in front of the fire.

You can have some of mine as we've had a 15" storm last week and a couple of more inches on Monday. Plenty to share......

We're supposed to get some snow this weekend, but it usually just rains or we get a bit of sleet instead. If it does now, it will be a wee bit. I miss snow

I don't like snow either, actually the snow is pretty but as you said it turns to ice and can be very dangerous to walk and drive in. If I never see snow again it will be to soon. I can live without it and ice strorms also, they are even worse...yet I love winter.

See, now I love days like that Jenny! Nothing like snuggling up with the babies on a snowday.

Great news! We may get a "wintery mix". Around here that usually means more ice than snow. But I'll take it. I'll take what I can get.

Hiding from my SS!
No snow here!!! (YAY!) Snow in Atlanta just melts and then turns into ICE!

Glad you are all snuggled up in front of the fire instead of outside in the cold!

Snowing here as well.

Six inches and another 8-12 to come. I have done the first shoveling and will be out later today to do more. Even managed to do my 80 year old neighbors walkway. I worry about if something happens to her but a least it is clear to her door.

The archdiosese in my area has given dispensation for going to mass tomorrow so the hubby, cats and I are snug with a fire and TV.

We had more overnight and throughout today as well. So I painted the entry hall, wrapped some presents and tidied my jewellery box! Thank goodness I have a bread machine and lots of flour. But I am getting very worried as it is scheduled to continue and I only hope there is some kind of thaw before Wednesday. One friend has already decided she is not going to travel for Christmas after all.

We had tons of snow today. It reached way above my ankles when I walked to the car and the window sills had a 25cms of snow in them. It was snowing so much that you could barely see anything and there was lots of traffic wich made the car trip a bit uncomfortable.. (scary actually, as the roads were full of snow and ice). But I managed to get few presents bought.

It's always so pretty - at first. ...and so fun... unless it doesn't stop.
...Or become melty then freeze.

We caught the tail end of the big "Mid-Atlantic" storm here. They changed the prediction of how much snow we were supposed to get several times. Thankfully we just got about 5 inches.

It looks very pretty, but I'm getting a bit fed up with not getting out of the yard. My tenant tried today to get down the hill to the village in his van, but got half way and turned back. So I made them some bread as I was making some anyway. Fortunately I still have two freezers full of food, and 48 cans of cat food, so we are all right. But I was hoping to go to a Christmas market today to finish off my shopping and of course that didn't happen. But at least I am getting a lot of odd jobs done around the house that I have been putting off.

Bonaparte loves the snow - he plays in it, kicking it up into showers, which he chases. But he only stays out for 30 minutes or so, comes in to warm up and then begs to go out again. Ellie won't go out in it, and I am not letting Wellington out in the cold, because of his asthma.
