Went to a Cat show today here in Clearwater FL.
Hope ya enjoy.

I am thinking of entering Charlie in the next cat show and that's in Sept or October. I know he is not show quality but I was thinking of bringing a 6 pack of beer and watch all the people checking out Charlie from the corner.
Sounds like fun.


We have any banners that can promote this site with?
Yea got any reagional Events Coordinators up in here?




It was a pretty cool event. My first cat show really. Tons of venders and new toys. Got Charlie a pop up tent but will post that later.


One cat was Mad Mad Mad. Got away from the owner and started booken. Ran right to me and I was checking out new toys at the vender area. The owner comes running over and says remain calm and don't move.
I was thinking to myself yea right I am gonna try and stop him or pick him up, prolly scratch my eyeballs out.:chicken: Cat was supper Freaking out and hissing. They got him safe and he was allright after the hissy fit.

I have never been to one, but I think it would be beat! I would love to enter mine in, but I am not sure how they would handle it...

I have never been to one, but I would love to go. The little gray one there looks just like my Griffin. They look so much alike. There was a cat show here in Savannah about a month ago and I missed it. I guess they didnt advertise enough or something. Oh well theres always next year! Do the cats have to be purebred with papers to be in cat shows? Not that I would do it, but I was just wondering about it.

Not from what I saw. There were cages that were marked house hold cat. That's why I was thinking of entering Charlie. I got the papers of what he is but don't wanna go threw all that hassel.

Most shows have a Household Pet division. They are judged on appearance, coat quality, overall health and disposition. Housecats must be spayed/neutered and may not be declawed.

I wouldn't dare enter any of mine. Opie would be out for blood, Rowdy would try to take over the whole show and Buddy (in addition to being declawed) would go into his centerfold pose and refuse to move.

There are also Fun Shows, that may allow any type of housecat.

Charlie is so Lax about everything he would not even care. That's the only reason I entertained the thought. I thing he would be a good at a show. HE BETTER WIN SOMETHING!:egypt: or I will get
on the judges.

Funny note.
One Vender cat lady I talked to was big time drunk. She spoke me and her breath was like just had a Scotch and Whiskey. I almost started to laugh out loud until she kept talking.

I want to go to a cat show so bad! I need to figure out how I can get alerted when one is coming to my area ... is there some sort of email list? On an aside, I loved the movie "Best in Show" ... WOEII: that tipsy lady would have made a great character!

I go to a cat show nearly every weekend. I like the pictures that you took.

Maybe your language was a bit harsh in your 1st post, it is a family site BTW

But really? Please provide comment or thread of language that would cause offense. Let me know I will try to clean it up.
