update of feral cats that have come, gone, come. lol

wow, I wonder how this all happened? One day I'm saying ok to taking in two ferral black barn cats. I now have Smooth, Fuzzy, Orange cat, Gray cat, and Spotsy. those are the ones outside. Inside I rescued 2 kittens in the barn, I kept one, had her spayed, ear tipped, etc. Never could put her out as she was so small for her age. I kept saying, next week, next week. Well, next week never came . I didn't want her to be here by herself as her sister was adopted by my youngest daughter and her husband. So then I rescued Cleo, another calico. so then the rescue had an older kitten to be socialized so I took her in for 3 months. I did let her back as I was having surgery and wanted to make things easier on hubby, as he had to take care of the horses, dogs and cats, in and out. Well, cleo is so unhappy with bella going that we are taking her back later this week. The two had bonded so much hubby, who didn't want to keep any of them, insisted that we take her back. he's such a sweety. So, Sunday, my daughter and her husband moved in with us for a few months while they look for a place up here to live. Well, they have my Smokes sister, Mokie, and Booboo. so now in my small house I have 3 rescue doxi dogs, 5 cats that have all been feral, still 3 horses, and this is all in a 1400 sq foot house. (this is our retirement farm. not meant for large groups. lol. and I'm having Christmas here with the rest of the family, and I have major surgury coming up Jan 19th. which will leave me unable to bend, twist, stretch, or lift for about 8 wks while the pain pump heals. and I can't even have a drink. how cruel .
but that is my crazy life now, and so far my daughters cats haven't ventured out of the back of the house, my Cleo has hidden for 2 days, finally go her out from under the cabnet last night so she could eat. and of course smoke and mokie (sisters) don't seem to remember each other. I wouldn't trade it for anything, ok maybe more room or a smaller christmas tree. lol

I see this song is in much not only on all your animals, but really on your husband...

But tell me. You do have such a lot of cats and dogs. Isnt any one of them taking as his habit to lie on your aching place thus giving you comfort and relief from the pains?
Anyway, I do really hope they will do this when you are back home with the healing surgery scars. A sort of Animal assisted theraphy.

I for example had som sort of rheumatism in my right knee, aching and almost impossible to bend. This disappeared completely after our older boy took as his habit to rest between my knees... This happened two different periods, so Im sure it wasnt pure coincidence.
Some cats DO help to heal. Others healing ability is lesser, but they help to relax instead.

Yes, you do have a whole gathering of folks and animals in your house. But isnt what Christmas is supposed to be? A gathering of friends?

Dont forget to give a Christmas plate of porridge with butter to the brownie protecting your place and your animals, and neither dont forget to give some fish or other cat food - to his cat.
The brownies do have cats, you know.

Good luck!

You are so right. they help me heal after every surgery. After the one at the end of last year, I developed MRSA infection and was sent to a nursing home. I wanted to die. I cried and cried and cried some more. I kept telling everyone I had to get home before my oldest dog passed. she was 16 at the time. They let me out in a week, instead of the 2 months they wanted me to stay. As soon as I got home and was close to the girls, I started healing so much better. Now they all want to heal me only problem is I have something called RSD which makes touching my involved body parts really really painful. Luckly, it's only both feet legs, all the way to mid back. so at least I have half a body they can still sit on. They produce so much heat anymore. I love it when the 3 dogs are pressed against me, and then Smoke, my cat, comes up and lays on my chest and falls over on her side and purrs and purrs. I wish I could take her to the hospital this next time. Her purring just relaxes me so much. Everyone gets xmas presents, they get theirs on Christmas eve. The Germans have an old custom that we follow. They believe your animals will give God a report on you at midnight christmas eve. So all animals get specials things, even feed for the squirrels and birds, etc. so we get a good report. It doesn't matter that it's an old custom, it's fun.

And what a lovely custom!

I'm really sorry to hear about the RSD though.... is that something that will change with healing?
