For many years I traveled over 60-75% of my time, and so a PDA was basically an extension of my arm LOL...
I was, and still am a Blackberry user, as I got used to an extremely efficient email interface; and when you are on the road, that makes a world of difference...
Lately however, Blackberry seems to be making phones that simply can not stand all the applications they put inside it - they have become "Crackberries" instead of Blackberries... I went through so many replacements for my two latest models that is not even funny - I am simply tired of it...
Here lies the reason of this email... Because I am with the carrier for so long, they might give me the chance of multiple exchanges for free, which means they will let me exchange my Blackberry for another PDA/Smart phone type of phone, on the same price range, but from another brand free of cost.
So.... I wanted to get feedback from the "streets" instead of from them...
So, do you have a PDA, and if so, what do you have, and do you like it? Can you briefly review it for me? (no Blackberries, please)
Thanks!!

I realize you don't want any blackberry type stuff for a reply but for me my bb curve is amazing. I don't have a comp anymore so for my web surfing and reaearching its perfect. I have the 8830 model ( I think its the correct number) but I also added a 8 gig memory card for pictures and music and it has helped keep my phone clean and clear of overloading the memory on the phone. I also went to my providers store (verizon) and they gave me tips to keep it cleaned up. Like every other day taking the battery off and letting the phone clear out all the programs its still running. I realize a bb might not be the phone for you but maybe the droid might be a good one if verizon is your service provider I've looked into that phone for my bf and that phone seems amazing but for me ill stick with my bb it works for everything I need it to do. Good luck carolina with finding a new phone that is exactly what you need.

This is my second Blackberry curve - the first one, 8320 (same as yours, different color and provider, T-mobile), I had 7 (yes, SEVEN) replacements, ALL defective.
This one, 8900, also a Curve, but newer, beefed up, also has a problem - reboots on its own. All the time. Click on an email, reboots. Try to open a link, reboots. SUCKS! Extremely unreliable. Believe me when I say - I AM OLD to Blackberry! Have had them for a good 7-8 years.... And the Curve is just getting me so tired that I am ready to throw the towel on Blackberry to never come back again!
In researching this problem, a lot of the new models have the same issue... so.... Quite frankly I just can't deal with it anymore...
It's great when it works, but when it doesn't it is awful.
So, nope, curve for me has been a complete nightmare to say the least. In theory, there is no better, but I am TIRED of dealing with the problems.

I second the Droid. I don't personally have it, but a couple friends do and say it's a great phone for web browsing. There are a couple issues: I guess the keyboard is hard to get used to, and the screen unlocks when there's a magnetic near it, so if you have a case with a magnetic it comes unlocked. But for everything else, I've heard it's great. It's one of the phones FH and I are looking at getting next year.

I don't have a smartphone, but I asked my mom about it since she is working for T-Mobile at the moment, and she said she doesn't have too much experience with them, but she said Motorola typically has good ones, and mentioned the new Motorola Cliq and the G1.

Don't know if that's any help, but something to look into anyway..

Gary has always hated RIM and so never caved on going with Blackberry. The first HTC that came out was OK... nothing to get too excited about. They've introduced other models... but he kept waiting. He is SO GLAD he did, because he is IN LOVE with the HTC Touch Pro 2. It has a full QWERTY keyboard (not virtual) which is important to him - and the screen tilts, which is too cool. It doesn't have a flash - and the camera doesn't sound great as described - but as it turns out, it is THE most amazing camera - I mean - the software it comes with is insanely amazing. He has downloaded a million apps already - and it HAS NOT CRASHED ONCE. He's got stock programs, news programs, we sync it without problem to both Windows 7 and XP... he's got 3 e-mail addies, and they are SO easy to manage. It surfs so easily he barely uses his laptop anymore, really. It took him a little while to get used to the Touch Flo screen - but he has already converted a number of dedicated Blackberry users, and so far they're loving it.

I have Sprint and I have a Palm Pre. I like the phone. Very user friendly, lots of apps now, and when Sprint's service is working, the internet access is awesome! Now for cons: the battery does not actually fit correctly so the phone shuts itself off at random and the Sprint service is AWFUL!! I am in the midst of deciding whether or not to break my contract it is so bad. Last night, I did not receive 7 or 8 messages until hours later. Tonight, i was not able to call anyone for a while because my phone was 'off line'. Love the phone, hate the service!

I will be anxiously awaiting everyone's responses to this as well!

I just got a Samsung Reclaim. It's kind of in between a regular and a smart phone. I can use Google calendar on it and internet and it has a few apps. My husband got one of those android phones. I can't remember what it's called but it takes Google apps and has wifi capability, there's no keyboard it's all by touch.

I like mine, my husband isn't sure he likes his phone yet. He had a Palm Treo before.

I have an LG Voyager. I hate it. It's too sophisticated for what I use it for, and the darn thing spontaneously turns on by itself, in my purse. I can be sitting in the living room, reading a book, and hear the music when it turns itself on. Then when I go to use it, the battery is dead. Speaking of which...I need to put it on the charger now, because when I went to use it last night, it was dead as a door nail. Meh....can't wait 'til my contract is up.

Hmmm, perhaps Google is coming out with there own version?

I'm interested in getting a Blackberry or PDA type thing. My experience with Blackberries so far has been fairly blah, and I'd love the chance to look at something better. The Iphones look pretty cool.

It's all right. I liked my old Treo better. But this one works. It's not ideal; but then, I'm so picky that I don't think ANY phone would be ideal for me.

My husband is DYING for that new Google (I think?
) Nexus One that comes out beginning of next year. He showed it to me, but it looks like more toy than tool, more like the Iphone.

Just my

Good luck!!

Hubby has a Nexus One. There are still some things the iPhone does better (the on-screen keyboard is better), but I LOVE all the integrated Google stuff on the Nexus.

There is a Microsoft Exchange Active Sync option in the account settings, so I would guess so. Anything with IMAP it can certainly sync with.
