Cat w/diarrhea

Hi, my cat Elvis has diarrhea issues. I believe it is food related because I recently switched foods. I saw online that in order to help him resolve this issue it would be best to remove his food for 12 - 24 hrs and then start feeding him bland food. I really don't want to go out and buy ID and I saw online that one can use rice and chicken breast. I was wondering if chicken broth would be fine or maybe baby food chicken. What do you all think?

Baby food READ carefully... MOST just meat ones are okay but check label for garlic and onions * YOU really DO NOT want those in the food* Gerber stage 1 meats in the 2.5 oz size are usually good

My vet has actually RX ed chicken BROTH not Stock... I make sure to either make it freash or buy one with as little onion or garlic I can find ( vet says it is fine but I do not want to take chances///

If it continues more than 48 hours call the vet
