I like a mixture, depending on what you are putting them with. We have coloured lights outside and white inside.x

Over the river and through the woods...
I like colored lights on the inside decorations and on the tree and white lights outside. Although this year we put up both white and colored icicle lights around the house and it looks really nice.

One thing I can't STAND are those chasing lights, regardless of color. I'm sorry, but it just makes the house look like a strip club and it gives me a headache.

Helen

I have gold lights on my tree, and I have some purple lights on my fireplace mantle.

I'd have to say both, my parents have always had multi-colored on the tree and outside, but I also like those icicles lights and they have to be white

you know what I miss is those huge bulbed lights, the "old-fashioned" type. I have really enjoyed the comeback of the more old-fashioned blown glass Xmas ornaments, so bring back the big bulbs!!!

I used to like to burn the tinsel on them when I was a kid.

I put up the brightest, most gaudy, ugly & obnoxious lights I can find.

Drives the family nuts, but if you're gonna stiff me & make me decorate - I'm gonna do it how I want!

We don't put lights up outside, just on the tree.

Colored for me!! I need to see some reds and greens and of course purple and yellow is great too..The colors just scream Christmas at me, while white lights are very pretty they do not work as well to get that holiday mood there for me.

Voted for white. And I mean a very cold white (outside). I love those because they look almost like stars. I've also seen some nice dark blue lights. For inside use a regular white will do too.
I absolutely hate multicoloured lights, they usually look very cheap and tacky. My ex-neighbor used to have a horrible multicolor lightcable in their balcony and it was there 'till spring..ugh.

I like colored lights!!

I think white lights look pretty but they look, I don't know, I think colors are more fun and festive.

We FINALLY put the tree up on Friday and I decorated it on saturday, and so we have colored lights on there, and a string of 100 on the windows, we're in an apartment so only have 1 wall with windows and they go the whole length of the room, so it's Plug in the lights at the bottom, tape them going up, tape them across the top of the windows, let them hang down the other side. Simple.

I just like lights in general really, I usually keep the window ones up til September, then I put the orange and purple strands for Halloween, then take down the purple after Halloween so it's orange for Thanksgiving, then back to colors in December. I thought BF wouldn't approve of the year-round light thing but he actually likes it so I keep them!

Our tree in the kitchen is done is blue and white lights. The living room tree has multi-colored lights and the bedroom tree has only red lights.

I prefer multi-colored lights, but the bedroom tree is decorated only with Santas and reindeer, hence only the red lights.

There are some new lights this year that are very intense in color. Maybe they're LEDs? At any rate, I've seen some striking displays with them on a few houses in the area.

By the way, this is one of my favorite times of year to be driving at night, since I get to see the Christmas lights.
