The two kitties we have been feeding are really making themselves at home! We have been told by our apartment complex not to feed the stray kitties outside. So we have been letting them come in to eat. They were just coming in, eating, and going back outside. The past few days we have been letting them stay in for awhile since it has been rainy. Precious, as I have named her, has been exploring and playing with the girls' toys. Today, she jumped on Rusty's chair and went to sleep.

I found out that they used to be inside cats. Their "owner" moved away and was supposed to take them, but they just turned them outside to fend for themselves! I don't think they are pregnant as they are not getting fat nor are their nipples getting big or showing. They might already be spayed but I don't know.

I wish someone would come and take Precious and Skittles and give them a forever home. They are so loving! If I had more room, I would keep them. The girls get along with them OK. They sniff each other but there hasn't been much hissing or growling.

The only time I heard Precious growl was when she was growling at the toy mouse she was tossing around. She was so cute!!!

that's so sad that they were just abandoned to their fate. At least they've got you feeding them and giving them a bit of shelter.

As said elsewhere. Cats don't need space as much as they need activity.

If you could afford the vet bills, you could manage the rest, at least for a while. You could put ads for them on petfinder or talk to rescue groups in your area if they would be willing to help you place the cats if you "foster" them.
One of the nice things about cats is that they really don't complain about where they live - most accept a full belly and someone to love them, even for a bit.

It's cold and who knows what dangers they face outside. Plus if you're going to be letting them in you need to know they can't give your two anything.

I have a 1390sqft home (some rooms are off-limits) with 7 cats. Often all of them will be in one room.
DH and I took a nap earlier and I woke up to find every single cat in bed with us.

That's just it. I can't afford the extra vet bills. I feed them, let them play for awhile and give them lots of loving. They even took a nap inside. Then they want back out. I have tried contacting local rescues and they either never returned my calls or flat out refused to help. I have one tell me to call the local kill shelter where they would be put to sleep. I live in a very small one bedroom apartment and 4 cats is too many. I don't think they have anything as they have been interacting with my 2 for a few months now.

They do have a little hidey hole inside a very dense bush outside my door. They normally sleep there.

I just posted on Petfinders and I am requesting a small rehoming fee.

When posting for cats, please request references...personal and vet. I would want a letter from potential adopters vets stating they are good pet owners and have a long standing relationship with them.

You have a really good heart to care for these poor little ones.

Since these aren't ferals this will end up going one of two ways eventually. One or both of them will get sick/injured/or even pregnant without vet care - and you'll have to do something. Or one or both of them will disappear and you'll be hurt and blame yourself. I know, I've been it that position too many times myself.
