Well, I just scheduled Squeaky's first annual exam. She had a vet appoinment last year, but that was free with her adoption, so I have no clue about the costs of these things.

Of course, I forgot to ask which vaccinations they give, but the cost of them is included - total $79.50. How does that square with what other people pay?

Of course, I'm sure it varies depending on your location and all of this is probably of no use
But, I'm curious. I probably won't shop around too much, because if I found one cheaper further away, that means I'd have to spend more time in the car with the Squeakster. We've only ever taken 2 car rides together and that was more than enough

$19.50 for yearly physical. About $15 each for distemper & rabies shots.

Depends what you call a yearly... 40 if just a basic exam ... shots 20 for rabies 25 for the 3 in 1 , if done at exam no exam fee... bloodwork 50-100 ...

Rahma, that sounds about right...
exam $40; rabies $16(purevax), 4x1 combo $15(purevax), city registration $7 = $78...

I think if you are in the City, these are good prices to go by... In my other vet only the exam would be $65 (needless to say I don't use them much
)

I think Nat doesn't live on the city, that's why her cost is so low... (Nat, sorry if I am wrong... I remember something like that
)

you should be able to tell them which vaccines you want, I will never go above 3 in 1 - (no 4 or 5 in 1 for my cats) and I won't use one brand. My vet is fine with that, and agrees with me.

Why no 4x1, and what brand won't you use?

$46 for vet visit.
Not sure what the Rabies Purvax shot was.
The vet did not charge for it.
She sometimes gives me things free.
3 in 1 Distemper Purvax was $13
I only use the Purvax shots and nothing that is over 3 in 1.

Thanks everyone for your responses. Yes, I do live in the cities, so I am guessing things are probably more expensive here.

I guess I really don't know what an annual exam consists of. We adopted her from the humane society and she came with all the shots she needed plus a free vet visit. He poked and prodded her, examined her teeth (which will probably need work sometime soon, gulp), weighed her and that was it.

Yep you are correct, I'm not in the city, but rather a rural area - hence the cheaper costs!

I think I pay around $30-35 for an annual exam and around $15 for the rabies. I'm worried about my kitty's teeth too, the first exam after I adopted her they mentioned that she had some gingivitis, and her breath is pretty stinky...

White Cat Lover - I love that your avatar is a cute black kitty... lol. I have a black kitty myself so I'm biased.

It depends on the vet I use. One vet costs me $40. for annual exam, $95. for for basic senior panel, and anywhere from $11.50 for rabies (Walk in clinic) and about $40 for the 3-1.

Our other vet we use for emergency and they cost $60. for office visit, shots start at about $15. and bloodwork about $105.

Depending on what needs to be checked besides basic check-up(fecal & shots would add more) but general exam is around $70.

I asked Dottie what it cost for Ella this last time.

It was about $120, but it included something they put on her (maybe Revolution, not sure) which I don't think she needed, plus rabies, plus the other annual vaccines. Pretty thorough.

$45 for an exam (recently upped from $40) and $15 each for rabies & FVRCP vaccines. I only get the rabies shots now, for my senior cats, as it's required by law - so that's $60 a year for each cat, or $75 for both if I take them in together.
Bloodwork is $140, hence the reason I don't do it annually like so many people recommend.
