Pregnancy Watch - Mau babies?

Well, Tsekani/Skylark bred between November 26 to 28. I have been watching her over the last few weeks, and I have noticed that she has not gone back into heat since then. The last two days she has been cleaning her belly area more than usual. Tsekani is housed next to her, and he has stopped trying to get her attention, usually they just lay on their shelves quite close together.

It's too early to say for certain, but if she has caught, she'll be due around January 28th!

If they bred the end of November, it will be the end of January/first week in February she has them - 63-68 days

Maybe it will be on my birthday or hubby's birthday (Feb 4th or Feb 1st)

January will be an exciting month for us breeders. I love to see little wee ones especially my own!!

My vet was surprised that my Oreo was in heat just the other day. She said usually by now they aren't in season. I informed her though that my house has very large windows and we let in a lot of sunlight and I keep it at 25C (77F) so it's warm in here all the time. We'll see what the winter is like, but we've had winter and really short days for 2 months already.

Many breeds call year round. Mine do, friends Abys, Burmese and Devons do too.

Well, I bet in the US it's like that as well in the warmer states that don't have snow on the ground and very cold temps for 7 months of the year LOL

Up where we live, we won't see anything green until at least May but at least we're getting closer to the shortest day of the year and then days get longer again. It will be many months before we will be able to take off the parkas and mitts and boots.

Well, my cats were pet-sat by my friend for 10 days over Christmas and I just got home. Skylark is ROUND. I felt her belly, and my friend had been feeling her as well and we both agree that there is definitely a basketball growing in there, and her mammaries are filling up. I am making an appointment for an Xray tomorrow, so that will probably happen in the next 2 weeks as she is due around January 28th. Here's hoping that there are real babies in there and everything goes as well as can possibly be hoped for.

I hope she is preg and everything gos well.

Hope everything goes ok.

Do you need the x-ray? My vet doesn't like to x-ray pregnant girls unless absolutely necessary.

Can't they do an ultrasound instead? That would be much safer for the babies.

Xray because the first litter, she had 6 kittens, and retained one until she was sick.. very sick. I didn't know there was another kitten in there.

No ultrasounds available in my town. I may be able to ask at the next city over if any vets over there have ultrasounds.
