The snow is supposed to stay to the north of Cincinnati, but we've got very strong winds here and the temp is supposed to drop into the teens tonight - the coldest it's been so far this season.

My condolences to all you mid-westerners. I got it now In New England. Not snow but freezing rain.
(Hello all my friends in Wisc.) I send you a shovel if you send me an ice scraper?

We got about 14 inches from the last two days. A lot of Omaha is shut down right now. I work at a daycare and we've been closed since yesterday at 1pm. We had blizzard conditions last night.

All we are supposed to get is wind...I would love for it to be blizzard like here...I know. Im a nut! I like to watch snow fall especially at night. Saturday night was great but not nearly enough. I see NY and Ohio are getting snow...but not eastern PA.

SNOW COME TO PHILLY!!!

It has been snowing and blowing here most of the day (northern Indiana), but not much has stuck. Yet. Apparently we are going to get lit up tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully not both!

My wife is a school teacher, so she is probably doing her snow dance.

I am taking Friday off to go Christmas shopping, but I would be just as happy spending it at home cuddling with the kitties!

Stay warm out there,

Dave

No snow, but plenty of cold.

It was fairly comfortable when I left Dallas last night. By the time I got to Wichita Falls, I had crossed the front. It was bitterly cold with a fierce north wind. I came back and was just behind the front all the way.

How is it that we never got a snow day when I went to Madison *pouts*

It's cooooold here in the twin cities, -9 windchill. I think we have about a 8 inches of snow on the ground, with another inch or 2 expected later today.

Let's see, what else, 300 crashes yesterday in the Metro Area. Thank God I can ride the bus.

We had a bad storm at about this time last year too - I remember because I insisted we drive through a blizzard to adopt the Squeakster. I had met her the day before at the Humane Society and put a 24 hour hold on her so that my husband could have a chance to meet her. I woke up to all that snow and practically cried (ok, I think I did cry) over the possibility that the hold would expire and we wouldn't be able to get her. Thankfully, my moping won out and we drove like 10 mph to the shelter 5 miles away, lol.

On the plus side, I did get a chance to try out my spiffy new northface boots. Prior to getting them over thanksgiving, I hadn't owned a pair of boots in over a decade. What was I thinking, I must have been insane! It's so wonderful not to have cold and frozen feet

The snow is very pretty, although walking through the drifts stinks!

Most of the field around us is clear, as the snow was the fine powdery stuff that blew away (of course all if it is on the road
).

Ours was the same stuff, very fine and since it was so windy it all blew around and drifted. Most of the roofs are clear and there are a lot of ground spaces that don't have much snow on them either, making it look like we didn't get as much snow as we did.

Well, we got our "blizzard" in the SF Bay Area Mon. I forgot to post pictures, so here they are:

BTW, this is now where I live with my landlady and her daughter. The house I own with DH is 20 minutes away and didn't get any snow. Of course, I now live in hilly horse country, in the middle of suburbia.

P.S. I am watching "The Nanny" DVD and the episode that started playing was the one where they all get snowed in by a blizzard at Fran's parents' house on their way to The Bahamas.

Well the snow is over for the midwest, here in my part of town in Madison, WI we got 17 inches.
Here is a pic of the sidewalk outside my building.

This is the street in the other direction from the above pic. Doesn't look deep in this pic, trust me, it is!

Here is a shot of the walkway leading up to my building, gives a good idea of the depth of the snow.

Now like a lot of others, we have the cold. Nasty cold, its 0 here right now, -19 wind chill.

Just for fun, here is the kitty looking out my window watching big chunks of snow fall off the branches.

And this one of the back of my building, (looking toward the building across from me) just cause I think it looks cool! That big tree in the foreground is the same one the cat is looking at in the pic above.

Sorry about the size, it won't seem to let me resize it.

I have lots more pics, but they need a bit of retouch work I don't feel like doing right now. snowstorms are not the best lighting situations for picture taking!
