My beloved Fozzie

I love all my dogs, but Fozzie was just one of those special animals that come into your life.

In the January of 2003 my late husband John turned up with this tiny pup that he had rescued from some people that were about to kill it (it was obviously an unwanted Christmas present) at that stage the pup was about 7/8 weeks old.
Fozzie soon took over our lives and managed to destroy most of the house but he was such a character that you couldn’t stay angry with him for long.
In January 2005 John suddenly died and if it had not been for my Fozzie I would have given up, he would cuddle up to me whenever I was in tears, and sleep on the pillow next to me at night, he was my little man, my rock, and we were nearly always together.
When I met my now OH fozzie loved him and we moved down to the farm with the dogs of my OH, Fozzie was still my little boy and when they all went out for a walk Foz wouldn’t go unless I did, he would keep running back and forth until I decided to go along with them, in the evenings he would sit on his own chair next to mine in the study while I was on the computer. Whenever I went out it was always his little face that I saw at the window when I came home, he adored me and I him.

As we have male and female dogs I decided that as Cookie the new kitten had to go and have his op then it would be a good time to get Fozzie and Bo done at the same time, I don’t usually like doing male dogs but Fozzie would get into such a state when the girls were in heat that I was worried he would give himself a heart attack, so on Thursday the 26th Nov I took my 3 boys in.
Fozzie didn’t come round from the op.
I feel so guilty for taking him in and so sad that I am now without my little boy.
I buried him in the field next to John’s ashes so they are now together again.
Run free my little boy.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Please don't feel guilty. You did what you deemed best for him and what any other sensible person also would have done. Maybe it was just fate. Thank you for sharing. Rest in peace little one.

What a precious little guy he was. There was probably some problem with him that would have turned up sooner or later.

You wrote a beautiful tribute to him. He knew only love and passed in his sleep. No suffering or pain.

Take care of yourself Milk maid. We are thinking of you.

This is so incredibly heartbreaking. I really feel for you. I lost one of my loves on the operating table and it's so unfair when it's unexpected. RIP Fozzie.
