I have to laugh at everyone and their snow. I live in the supposed snowbelt and they're calling for 1cm or less LOL.

I know I know, I'll get mine soon enough.

Morning folks...

Well, I finally got some slightly better sleep. I was up every hour or two, but got more sleep than I have in the previous two nights put together. I still need to catch up more, but I'm feeling ok in that department.

The low pressure system moving in is flaring up my chronic pain issues, not so nice.

I have a physio appt at 2, and need to stop and pick up some stamps so I can mail out a bunch of xmas cards

Prolly sneak a nap in at some point.

Have a good one

Yup, I'm just outside of London....

Its kinda scary to tell you the truth. We had snow yesterday, there's only a tiny bit on some surfaces (after flurries all day), calling for more flurries today, but no accumulation in the 7day forecast.... Makes me think that we are in for one heck of a storm when it finally gets here.

Morning! Oh boy I am going to be dragging today. My cousin is in from Florida and his boyfriend and him where hear for dinner last night. It was great catching up and meeting the new guy in his life. They didn't l eave until 11pm. I haven't been up that late in ages. The kitchen is a mess. LOL I don't even know where to begin with the clean up.

I have to check out my SS gift later on. The kitties were busy while we had company. One of the gifts wasn't wrapped and they got into it. Can you guess catnip was involved? I found these cute little toys all over the house. haha I want to get some pictures of the devils later to add to the SS thread.

Morning.

I'm running late today too and have a day packed with meetings...only 5 more days until vacation, though!

Other then that, it's just a day so far. I'm too busy to have plans right now, although we are getting ready for a trip to visit DH's family for Christmas this weekend, so that's taking up some time.

Anyway, have to run. Have a good one everyone.

Morning all!

We had a pretty rough storm last night that woke me up. Today is my birthday and I think I actually feel older. I don't like getting older....I should have stopped at 25.

Oh well, hope everyone has a good day!

It's bright and sunny this morning, before the snow and freezing rain move in tonight. I'm at work, although I don't really feel like working today. (Actually, I'm just waiting for the weekend.)

I'm planning on baking some cookies tonight. We made some chocolate chip cookies, but my dear husband seems to have gone through them rather quickly. Must make more. And maybe some pecan sandies. And some snickerdoodles. So that will be my night.

Oh, jeez, it's cold here. Temp -33°C, wind chill -38°C. Quite probably the coldest place on earth again, Antarctica aside. Last night the horses were covered in frost and the cats had frosty faces. I hate winter.

Morning,

I'm working from home this morning. Probably a good day for it. It's a bit warmer today, but going to be rainy. We're getting the big system that's moving through the Midwest and the Eastern US, but it will be too warm for any snow here.

I'm re-running some simulations today. I started them yesterday and this morning I discovered they hadn't worked properly for some reason. I need the results to go any further writing my dissertation, so that's pretty annoying. Nothing else going on today, really. I'll be working on this all day and then trying to get to bed early tonight so that I can get a nice early start on work tomorrow.

Happy Tuesday!!

Well, my boss and the entire office are at a seminar, so I'll be around a lot today, boy oh boy do I wish I could access FB at work

Have my first final exam tonight in Quantitative Business Analysis, and yes it is as scary as it sounds
luckily, or unluckily as the case may be, it is on theory and is all multiple choice, no math! but I was so busy learning the math I'm afraid I didn't much attention to theory

Have my Xmas cards here all ready to fill out
so that will pass some time

Two more days of class!!!! And then finals of course
, but we are getting there! It is freezing here!!! A high of 44 degrees at 4pm of course! It is like 28 right now, but at least it is sunny out. It is bad when literately one day it is in the 60s and the next it is freezing weather....it really messes up your body! I have class in a few, a class tonight, I hope I dont freeze walking to my night class lol, I am hoping to get my paper finished.......I only got like a page done last night

I hope everyone has a great day!

There's no place like home
We're under a winter storm watch for the next 5 days. Right now its starting to get icy, then we're supposed to have snow, then the temperature drops down to about 2 (that's -16C for you nanooks of the north) overnight with a wind chill of -20 (-29C). It's Kansas City, so we won't know if we get a couple of inches to a foot of snow (5cm - 30cm) until the storm rolls in. Then after a few days of frigid cold, it's supposed to snow again. And it's not even winter yet.

I'm tucked in my warm house and don't have to drive anywhere for the next few days (yay). DH pulled a load of firewood up close to the house so that we can keep the fire stoked up. So as long as the ice doesn't get too thick and we lose power, we're good here.

Today I'll finish a few more Christmas presents. My work has pretty much given up on giving me any more assignments to do from home.

Morning. I'm dragging this morning too, I was up a bit late last night.. blah. Coffee is taking too long to kick in!!

Also, it's COLD here, which made it even harder to get out from under the covers! I looked on weather.com a few minutes ago and they say it's 40. 40!! In Long Beach! Crazy! We had the heat on last night even! (Sorry to all you East Coasters who regularly freeze this time of year. One thing I do NOT miss about home.)

So, on tap for today I have an eye doctor appointment which I hope won't be too scary (i think it will involve eye drops and stuff like that, I never had that kind of eye exam before!), then I need to go to the post office after work and maybe do a bit of shopping.

Tonight I'm going to see my friends' band The Lost Patrol who are here from NYC playing some shows in SoCal! I missed the others, unfortunately, but tonight they are playing just a few blocks from my apartment. Yay! I can't wait to see them!

Have a good day everyone and stay warm!

...just being quiet as a mouse here today because Gary managed to fall asleep around 4:30 or 5:00am and apart from an hour earlier, he's still snoozing. He hasn't slept more than an hour or two at a time for.... I honestly can't remember how long it's been. Definitely weeks. Probably like 5 or 6 weeks. I unplugged the phones and rescheduled today's calls.

The snow we got over the weekend is still on the ground. After having been warmer than normal until late last week, it's now colder than normal. Supposed to warm up enough to rain tomorrow/wed - then head right back down and freeze, so I'm assuming we'll be looking at a bunch of ice.

Yup - stay warm and enjoy!

Good afternoon all,

Got up at 5:30 this morning and did a little jogging in front of the ol' Wii Fit. I know it isn't *real* jogging, but I sure did get tired out after running those 28 minutes. Still, I am way ahead of my goal of getting up to 30 minutes by the time April 1st rolls around. Yay me?

I live in northern Indiana, and it looks like we'll be getting hit with some of that snow between today and tomorrow, with the end of the week potentially being pretty rough.

I gave the kittens their first taste of Authority last night, and they didn't really try much, so I am sure I'll be poking around here for some tips and tricks. I am going to upload their pics to flikr tonight, and hope to introduce them officially tonight.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Dave
